Mountaineer Racetrack Betting Picks – Wednesday, November 11, 2020

| November 10, 2020 3:01 pm PDT

Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort has plenty to offer us trackside Wednesday, with a nine-race schedule full of maiden, allowance, and claiming races.

Incidentally, all the races at Mountaineer for Wednesday are on the main track. Competitors and their connections can expect a soggy day, with yesterday’s sunny skies giving way to rain Wednesday. Temps will be in the upper 60s, with winds around eight mph.

Read on for my Mountaineer Racetrack picks and tips for Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Picks for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 5

This is a maiden special weight race for two-year-old fillies running a distance of five furlongs for a purse of $15,500.

I’m going with the 1/1 morning line favorite — Forty Pieces, with Charles Oliveros in the irons. This filly moneyed her single career start with a third-place finish at Hawthorne in October.

Plenty of long-odds entries in this race, but the longest I’d go for a value show wager is the 12/1 Iamthebesttoo, with Jorge A Monserrate, Jr. aboard. This filly moneyed three of her five career starts.

  • Win: Forty Pieces 1/1
  • Show: Iamthebesttoo 12/1

Pick for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 7

This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $20,200.

I’m betting on the second-favored (7/2) entry here — Shezagoldgetter, with Marielis Cosme aboard. This filly moneyed nine of her eleven career starts, winning two. Also, Cosme brings her seven-pound apprentice allowance to the race.

There is only one long-odds entry in this race, and that is just not going to result in a happy ending, so let’s save our money.

  • Win: Shezagoldgetter 7/2

Picks for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 8

This is an allowance optional claiming race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $17,800.

I’m backing the third-favored (5/1) entry here — Legendarys First, ridden by Charles Oliveros. This four-year-old filly moneyed 12 of her 20 career starts, winning six.

At 15/1, Dudes Pick with Luis H. Colon aboard is my choice for a value show bet. This three-year-old filly finished in the money six of her 13 career starts, winning one.

  • Win: Legendarys First 5/1
  • Show: Dudes Pick 15/1
