Mountaineer Racetrack Picks – Tuesday, November 10, 2020

| November 9, 2020 2:43 pm PDT

Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort brings us a nine-race card of claiming, starter, and maiden races for Tuesday.

The main track should be dry and fast, with sunny skies, temps in the upper 70s, and winds mild at around nine mph.

While I review the three richest races at Mountaineer Racetrack for Tuesday, you can always find their entire race-card — Including entries, morning line odds, jockeys, and betting options — at one of our recommended online racebooks.

Read on for my Mountaineer Racetrack picks and tips for Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

Picks for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 6

This is an allowance race for three-year-olds running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $17,800.

I’m backing the 2/1 morning line favorite in this race — Savage, with Charles Oliveros in the irons. This gelding moneyed three of his five career starts, winning one.

The longest odds I’d risk a show ticket on are the 10/1 Allaboutbiz, with Yuri Yaranga aboard. This gelding moneyed seven of his eight career starts, winning one. The more I think about it, you may want to try an across the board wager here. It could happen.

  • Win: Savage 2/1
  • Show/Across the Board: Allaboutbiz 10/1

Pick for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 7

This is an allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $22,800.

I like the second-favored (9/5) entry here — Shy Guy, ridden by Adrian Flores. This four-year-old gelding moneyed 13 of his 14 career starts, winning six of them. Granted, Flores is up against a few jockeys with much more experience, but they are aboard much less impressive horses. This should all even out to Flores’ and Shy Guy’s advantage.

While there are some interesting longshots in this race, none of them are interesting enough to make me risk a show ticket. Let’s save it for another race.

  • Win: Shy Guy 9/5

Pick for Mountaineer Racetrack Race 8

This is a starter allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of two furlongs for a purse of $17,500.

I’m betting on the third-favored (7/2) entry to win — Papa’s Isla Doll, with Ajhari Williams in the irons. The only mare in this seven-horse field, Papa’s Isla Doll moneyed 13 of her 29 starts, winning seven of them.

Neither of the two longer-odds entries in this race are worth risking a show bet.

  • Win: Papa’s Isla Doll 7/2

More Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday

Mountaineer was a tad sparse with long-odds investments, but you can find more Tuesday surprises at the two other tracks I reviewed:
