What we saw in that game was a spectacular display of two of Monterrey’s arguably best players Maximiliano Meza and Rogelio Funes. Meza scored once, while also making two assists. Funes put away two goals in that game.

These two have been the key players for Monterrey in recent years, especially when it comes to the games against Club America. In their most recent competitive game, Funes was the man who brought Monterrey the 1-0 victory.

This team has lost only one competitive game since March and is coming into the CONCACAF Champions League Final after four straight wins. All of those victories happened in the Mexican top-flight, Liga MX, which is where Club America is at the very top of the table.

It seems very likely this team will win the Mexican title, but can they add another major trophy to the collection?
