MMA DFS Picks and Top Lineup for UFC Vegas 36 – Saturday, September 4, 2021

| September 3, 2021 8:20 am PDT

UFC Vegas 36 can’t come soon enough. Last week’s batch of MMA DFS picks ended up being a horror show.

Big names betrayed me, and wins that felt like locks just wormed their way out of my hands. It was a bad week, but that’s how things can go when piecing together MMA DFS lineups at times.

Two weeks ago, my fighter picks almost led you to glory. Last week, well, not so much.

It’s onward and upward come UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Till, as MMA fans get a really nice main event, and a pretty underrated card ahead of it.

Want to get some skin in the game? First check out Adam Haynes’s UFC Vegas 36 fight predictions if you want to bet on Saturday’s matches, and then join me to build a winning UFC DFS roster.

Let’s first go over my three core MMA DFS picks, and then wrap things up with my favorite lineup for the weekend.

Derek Brunson ($7.4k)

Brunson is a lock for me this week. It’s not that I’m not scared of Darren Till, but Brunson is as motivated as anyone to prove his worth.

“I’m definitely looking at it as a potential #1 contender fight.“

That, and there’s a lot to like here.

First, the price is awfully nice. The form (four straight wins), is also good, and he’s also taken out some big names lately.

A KO of Edmen Shahbazyan is nothing to sneeze at, while Brunson outlasted Kevin Holland and Ian Heinisch.

His lone losses since 2012? They came against legends like Yoel Romero, Anderson Silva, Robert Whittaker, Ronaldo Souza, and Israel Adesanya.

None of that guarantees a thing for Brunson, but he has the best points per dollar projection of the slate, per He also gets five rounds to work with, which inflates any damage he’s bound to inflict.

Put it all together, and Brunson feels like a core play for UFC Fight Night. In-house MMA guru Adam Haynes doesn’t agree, of course.

See what he has to say in his Derek Brunson vs. Darren Till betting preview.

Tom Aspinall ($9k)

There is one fighter I am all about paying up for on this slate, and that’s the explosive Tom Aspinall. He only has 12 MMA bouts to his name, but he’s won 10 of them, and they’ve all come by stoppage.

That’s the kind of guy you pay for, while Aspinall is also a rightful betting favorite (-175), and clocks in with the best fantasy points projection for the slate.

I don’t really need to do much more digging. Aspinall can end this fight with his fists, and his two submissions show he can do damage on the ground, as well.

Aspinall’s power and balance is saliva-inducing, and he’s very much on the rise in the UFC. I want as much exposure to him as I can get.

Jack Shore ($9.1k)

I’ll get to some more value when I finish up this week’s lineup, but Brunson already gives you a nice discounted fighter in my core picks.

Shore is another stud I want to pay for, though.

He is not cheap, but he’s undefeated (14-0, 3-0 in UFC), and has a versatile skill-set. He comes into UFC Vegas 36 as a massive -600 favorite at BetOnline, and I’m not going to fight it.

Shore has elite submission skills, and he is climbing the UFC ladder.

Upsets obviously can happen at any time, but I don’t think that’s the case here. I think he’s a lock to win on Saturday, so he’ll be a staple of my daily fantasy MMA lineups.

Top MMA DFS Lineup for UFC Vegas 36

  • Derek Brunson ($7.4k)
  • Tom Aspinall ($9k)
  • Jack Shore ($9.1k)
  • Dalcha Lungiambula ($7.8k)
  • Modestas Bukauskas ($8.5k)
  • Molly McCann ($8k)

Brunson is a nice value, Aspinall is a beast, and Shore feels like one of the safest bets of the week. That’s a fine trio to roll with, and if you want to pivot to Till off of Brunson, I won’t blame you.

Elsewhere, I like Dalcha Lungiambula, who has an even matchup with Marc-Andre Barriault.

This is a fight that really could go either way, but Lungiambula may have the power edge here. If he can jump on Barriault early, he gives you nice upside for this price.

I also like Bukauskas, who was on a seven-fight run before getting KO’d by Jimmy Crute and dropping a tough Decision to Michal Oleksiejczuk.

Those aren’t terrible losses, and he made a nice impression in his UFC debut. Before those two losses, he’d won by stoppage in each of his last seven fights.

The upside is there with Bukauskas, and I’m rolling the dice with him this week.

Lastly, I’ll slide in McCann, in what is arguably a toss-up against Ji Yeon Kim.

This fight absolutely grades out as a Decision call, but I weirdly feel like McCann is just going to own this fight if it’s fought close.

MMA Betting Advice for UFC Vegas 36

You have my favorite UFC Vegas 36 DFS picks for Saturday, as well as my preferred lineup. As always, I encourage you to enter numerous rosters into large field tournaments.

That should include some minor pivots. Two that stand out are swapping McCann with Kim, and also going with Till over Brunson.

For single entry spots, though, I love this squad for UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Till.

As for the betting realm, MMA DFS picks and suggested bets aren’t always the same. I am not vouching for Shore at his absurd -600 price tag, after all.

That said, I do like the following bets for Saturday’s card.

Dalcha Lungiambula+144
Molly McCann-110
Luigi Vendramini+135
Modestas Bukauskas-155
Alex Morono-128
Tom Aspinall-240
Derek Brunson+152

I’d be hunting for an inside the fight finish for Aspinall (and Shore), but I think if you go with my MMA betting picks here, you will come away in the green.
