MLB Predictions and Best Bets – September 12, 2020

Gear up for another fun MLB betting slate with our daily baseball betting preview, which focuses on game-winner predictions and top betting picks.

Despite a full slate of 16 games, I like to condense things and focus on the best situations to place bets.

Here’s a look at the games I like to target for Saturday’s MLB betting action.

That gives us seven fun games to work with. There are nine others you can certainly entertain betting on, but these are the games where I like the straight-up picks the most, and/or see another bet we can exploit.

A day after getting Kris Bubic, Pittsburgh has a tougher matchup against KC youngster Carlos Hernandez. The young righty has some nice tools, including a solid fastball, and a filthy changeup.

Pittsburgh is really only a threat in advantageous spots, and this isn’t one. On the other side, Kansas City has a good shot at beating up on the hittable Trevor Williams.

Milwaukee had a solid matchup yesterday, but on Saturday they face a controlled pitcher in Kyle Hendricks. I doubt Milwaukee’s inconsistent bats get to him enough, while Brett Anderson is far from an imposing force on the other side.

This is a fun one, as the Dodgers look for some revenge against the team they lost the World Series two years ago. Houston is struggling, while L.A. has excelled all year long.

The pitching matchup is a wash, so the edge understandably goes to the home (and better) squad.

This game offers a solid pitching matchup, as southpaw Rich Hill will try to contain the Indians, and Zach Plesac will hope to silence the mighty Twins.

Plesac is a bit more reliable this year, but both of these lineups could still tee off in this park. I like Cleveland to win, but the Over is the preferred bet in this one.

The Halos continue a fun series at Coors Field, where they get a massive park upgrade. Colorado is at their best at home, but the pitching isn’t great in this one, and the Angels will benefit immensely from this shift.

Los Angeles doesn’t strike out much, and they may have enough power to get to Kyle Freeland early. As always, the Over is one of the better MLB bets to hammer.

This should be a solid spot for a little value, and it also may be a nice opportunity for the D’Backs to get a win. Arizona is at home against the lowly Mariners, and even their watered-down lineup could find some success here.

Neither of these teams are particularly fun to trust, but Zac Gallen (2.29 ERA) has been awesome in 2020 and should shred here.

Lastly, we come to a nice matchup at home for the Cardinals. They’re usually a little more fun against southpaws due to their right-handed power, but they have plenty of lefties to throw at Anthony DeSclafani (7.20 ERA).

The Cincy righty has a wide split and struggles mightily with lefties, and I suspect that continues on the road against the Cardinals.
