MLB Predictions and Best Bets – September 11, 2020

We have a fully loaded 15-game MLB betting slate on our hands-on Friday. For a quick look at the games, I have circled to wager on, refer to this list.

We have a likely gem of a pitching duel on this list, as well as some more obvious plays. To see how you may want to bet on said games at the best baseball sportsbooks, read on for today’s MLB predictions and top betting picks.

Boston has fought back after an ugly start to the 2020 season, but their pitching remains awful. There isn’t enough to like in a pitcher’s park against Blake Snell (3-1, 3.74 ERA), either.

On the flip side, the Rays should be able to have their way with Zack Godley. I love the Rays here, while Snell’s presence and the park could keep the game low-scoring.

I wrote up about the Royals in my best MLB DFS stacks post for Friday, as they’re at home against a beatable southpaw in Steven Brault.

Brault has been passable this year, but I can’t imagine that lasts for much longer. Kris Bubic has struggled in 2020, but he has a better matchup in front of him at home.

It’s a pitching dumpster fire in Texas on Friday, as Mike Fiers and Jordan Lyles wage war. Fiers has been considerably better in 2020, but both of these guys can be straight-up gas cans.

Texas is stripped down offensively, so trusting in them won’t be easy. I still think they can do some damage here, but the real play is Oakland to demoralize Lyles (8.07 ERA). Hammer the A’s and the Over in this one.

Casey Mize is a fine rookie pitcher, but he hasn’t been amazing during his first year of action. He has a decent strikeout matchup in front of him, but taking on the White Sox on the road looks rather challenging.

Chicago can tattoo anyone, but Mize has had real issues with right-handed bats, and he’s allowed multiple runs in every start. I doubt this is where he delivers his best performance.

This game gives us the top pitcher matchup of the slate, as Shane Bieber (7-0, 1.25 ERA) has been untouchable in 2020, and Kenta Maeda (4-1, 2.77 ERA) has been one of the better free agency signings.

Both teams have loads of power, but I simply trust The Biebs a bit more in this volatile setting. The Under is obviously among the safest MLB bets for the day, too.

Lastly, we have a nice NL Central rivalry series on our hands, as the Brewers welcome the hated Cubs to Miller Park. Milwaukee has some ground to cover in this division, and it sure would be nice to take Chicago down a peg or two.

They might be able to do it, as they can throw a bunch of viable righties at a regressing Jon Lester. That said, this is also a solid matchup for him, and the Cubs have quite the park upgrade. I’ll take the better team at a nicer price.

I’ll take the Cubs as my value pick of the day. Chicago is on the road against a good pitcher – and I love the Brewers in MLB DFS – but Jon Lester could also easily work them.

Regardless of how it plays out, Chicago seems to always have the upper hand in this series. Their offense gets the same boost with this park, too, so getting them at +139 feels like a steal.

KC has a great matchup at home. They’re down a key bat, but getting them at -106 feels pretty nice. Oakland sees us eating some cash, but -160 isn’t that bad for a pretty sweet spot.

I think they smash, but you can just hammer the Over in that game if you want a better price.
