Picks and Predictions for MLB Games – June 7th, 2022

| June 6, 2022 2:31 pm PDT

Ladies and Gentlemen: we are officially on a hot streak. My MLB predictions had another great day last week, going 7-2 on Thursday. That brings the predictions to 28-10 over the previous two weeks.

I nearly had a perfect day last Thursday, but the San Diego Padres blew a three-run lead in the ninth, and the Baltimore Orioles lost in extras.

We have another full slate with 11 MLB games on Tuesday, June 7. That gives us many more chances to have another big day.

If you think you’re ready to bet on MLB contests right now, here’s a quick list of my suggested MLB sportsbooks.

MLB Odds for Tuesday, June 7th

  • Nationals (+150) vs. Marlins (-163), O/U 8
  • Tigers (-112) vs. Pirates (+102), O/U 7
  • Cubs (-105) vs. Orioles (-105), O/U 9
  • Rangers (+124) vs. Guardians (-134), O/U 9
  • Cardinals (+134) vs. Rays (-145), O/U 7.5
  • Athletics (+192) vs. Braves (-210), O/U 8.5
  • Phillies (+100) vs. Brewers (-110), O/U 8
  • Blue Jays (-203) vs. Royals (+186), O/U 8.5
  • Mariners (+216) vs. Astros (-240), O/U 7.5
  • Dodgers (-120) vs. White Sox (+110), O/U 8.5
  • Mets (+112) vs. Padres (-122), O/U 7.5

The betting trends show that three matchups feature teams that rank top 10 against the spread. That includes the New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres. New York’s 34-22 record against the spread is the best in the majors.

Then, you have the Texas Rangers vs. Cleveland Guardians and Chicago Cubs vs. Baltimore Orioles. Texas and Baltimore have the best record against the spread in the AL.

We only have one matchup between teams that are bottom ten against the spread. The Kansas City Royals have the worst record against the spread, while the Toronto Blue Jays have the fifth-worst.

Surprisingly, we don’t have one matchup between top 10 teams at going over their run total. The Philadelphia Phillies are No. 1 with a 31-21 mark, and they’ll face a Milwaukee Brewers team at 26-27-3.

The Detroit Tigers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates matchup opens with the lowest run total of the day. That likely has to do with both teams ranking bottom three at going over their run total. Will either offense produce runs?

The biggest discrepancy with the betting trends is the run total for the Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros. Houston is last against the run total, while Seattle is ninth.

Top MLB Predictions for June 7th

  • Marlins Over Nationals
  • Pirates Over Tigers
  • Cubs Over Orioles
  • Guardians Over Rangers
  • Rays Over Cardinals
  • Braves Over Athletics
  • Brewers Over Phillies
  • Blue Jays Over Royals
  • Astros Over Mariners
  • Dodgers Over White Sox
  • Mets Over Padres

My MLB predictions for Tuesday kick off with a trio of NL teams scoring a victory. It’s hard to pick the Washington Nationals against anyone right now. They’re on a three-game win streak, but I’m still picking the Miami Marlins.

The Texas Rangers vs. Cleveland Guardians features a pair of teams outside the Wild Card picture. The latest 2022 AL MVP odds have Jose Ramirez as a top contender. He should play a significant role in Cleveland’s victory.

Perhaps the most underrated matchup of the day features the St. Louis Cardinals vs. the Tampa Bay Rays. Rays starter Jeffrey Springs has been strong since transitioning to the rotation.

The Philadelphia Phillies have looked better lately, but it’s hard to trust them with Ranger Suarez on the mound.

  • 4.69 ERA
  • 1.56 WHIP
  • 22 Walks
  • 42 Strikeouts

I don’t have much doubt about the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros. Alek Manoah and Justin Verlander should lead their respective team to victory.

We’ll cap the night with the best teams in the NL scoring a victory. The Los Angeles Dodgers won’t have the pitching advantage, but Chicago White Sox starter Michael Kopech has allowed 3+ runs in two of his last three starts.

I expect a close matchup between the New York Mets and San Diego Padres. Ultimately, Yu Darvish’s inconsistency gives the Mets the edge. They have a strong chance to extend their lead in the NL.

Best Bets for MLB Games on 6/7/22

  • Pirates to Win (+102)
  • Blue Jays vs. Royals Under 8.5 Runs (-110)
  • Mets to Win (+112)

We won’t always have the most exciting matchups in the MLB. There likely aren’t many people jumping for joy about the Detroit Tigers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, but I see value with the Pirates.

Pittsburgh has quietly looked good lately, winning seven of their last ten games. That includes a three-game sweep over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Detroit lost three in a row against the New York Yankees.

Both pitchers have been good this season, but I have more faith in the Pirates’ offense. I love taking the value with them at home.

The Toronto Blue Jays defeating the Kansas City Royals wasn’t a tough decision. However, that didn’t present enough value to include in my best bets. I’m taking the under because of Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah.

  • 6-1
  • 1.98 ERA
  • 0.91 WHIP
  • 10 Walks
  • 57 Strikeouts

Kansas City’s offense has scored the fifth-fewest runs. It wouldn’t surprise me if Manoah had his third shutout of the season. My only concern is the Blue Jays going over 8.5 runs on their own.

How often will you see the New York Mets as the underdog? The Mets have lived up to the hype, holding the best record in the NL. Everyone expected their pitching staff to lead them to success, but their offense has the second-most runs.

San Diego Padres starter Yu Darvish has been all over the place. He has three shutouts and three starts with 5+ runs allowed. New York’s offense should be near the five-run mark. Not to mention, Mets starter Taijuan Walker has a 2.88 ERA.

That wraps my MLB predictions and best bets for Tuesday, June 7. Please visit the best MLB betting sites to wager on the action.
