Having suffered four straight losses, the Loons FINALLY picked up their first win of the 2021 MLS season in midweek – edging out Vancouver 1-0 on Wednesday night.

Next up, Minnesota welcomes FC Dallas to Allianz Field on Saturday, May 15.

Luchi Gonzalez’s men have also managed to record just one victory this year. However, they have played a game less than Minnesota and have only suffered one defeat in 2021.

If you’re here for my Minnesota United vs. FC Dallas prediction and pick – keep reading. In this betting preview, I discuss the odds for Saturday’s clash and also analyze the teams.

Minnesota United vs. FC Dallas Odds

Minnesota United to Win2.15
The Draw3.50
FC Dallas to Win3.10

As you can see, there is no clear favorite here. The online sportsbooks believe that Minnesota (2.15) has the upper hand, but the high price for the home win indicates that Dallas (3.10) will compete for all three points on Saturday.

It is difficult to predict the outcome of this game, so let’s take a closer look at the teams before settling on a Minnesota United vs. FC Dallas betting pick.

Previewing the Match

Following a dreadful start to the season, everyone connected with Minnesota United breathed a collective sigh of relief on Wednesday.

Adrian Heath’s men lost to Seattle, RSL, Austin, and Colorado across the opening four weeks of the new campaign – scoring just three goals along the way. But last time out, they tasted victory for the very first time in 2021.

Granted, the Loons only claimed a 1-0 win over Vancouver. But having registered 17 shots in midweek, there is no denying that they deserved to beat the Whitecaps.

Ramon Abila opened his account for the club on Wednesday. If the Boca Juniors loanee can contribute alongside usual suspects like Emanuel Reynoso and Robin Lod, Minnesota will surely win a lot more games this term.

Having clinched two three-goal victories over Dallas last year, the Loons should be confident of recording back-to-back wins this weekend – regardless of their disappointing start to the season.

Dallas secured a hugely impressive 4-1 thrashing of Portland in Week 3, dominating the Timbers at Toyota Stadium. But other than that, the Toros haven’t had much to get excited about this year.

After drawing with Colorado on the opening weekend, Gonzalez’s side was beaten 3-1 by San Jose. Despite dominating large spells of last weekend’s Texas Derby, Dallas was held to a 1-1 draw by Houston.

We all know that Minnesota has endured a poor start to the campaign, but it is worth noting that Dallas is only two points ahead of the Loons in the early Western Conference standings.

Jader Obrian has made a bright start to life in Dallas, netting two goals in his first four appearances for the club. With Franco Jara struggling for form and Jesus Ferreira sidelined through injury, Obrian must continue to chip in.

If the Texans win on Saturday, they will be five points clear of Minnesota. If they lose, they will trail Minnesota by one point. Of course, it is still early days. But this already feels like a vitally important clash.

My Minnesota vs. Dallas Betting Pick

  • Minnesota United to Win

I’m backing the Loons to pick up where they left off against Vancouver and secure a second win on the spin this weekend.

Heath’s men have made a below-par start to the season; we all know that. Still, the visit of an unconvincing Dallas team presents them with the ideal opportunity to get into their grove.

The home win is my Minnesota vs. Dallas prediction.
