If the Glory’s opening two games are anything to go by, we are likely to see plenty of goals when Melbourne Victory welcomes the Western Australians to AAMI Park on Tuesday, January 26.

Melbourne Victory vs. Perth Glory Odds
Melbourne Victory (2.45) may have lost their first two matches this term, but 10bet still sees the home side as the marginal favorite to win on Tuesday.
However, the odds gap for this matchup is extremely narrow.
Having started the campaign in memorable fashion, Perth Glory (2.55) will be confident of snatching at least a draw (2.55) at AAMI Park.
Melbourne Victory vs. Perth Glory News
Following a below-par showing last season, Grant Brebner would have been desperate for his side to start the new campaign on a high. But having lost each of their opening two games, the Boys in Blue seem to have picked up where they left off last season.
Despite seeing 58% possession against Brisbane Roar, Victory lost 3-1 in their season opener. Brebner’s men also dominated possession last time out, but they were unable to prevent a 1-0 loss to Adelaide United.
Victory registered just a single shot on target on Saturday, underlining the team’s attacking problems. New signing Rudy Gestede was forced off with an injury after just ten minutes, leaving his side without a target man upfront.
Brebner’s men can take confidence from the fact that they beat the Glory 4-0 in their previous meeting. However, it feels like a lot has changed since then. There is no denying that a high-scoring home win would be a big shock on Tuesday.
On the topic of high-scoring victories, Perth kicked off their 2020/21 campaign by crushing Adelaide 5-3, with Nicholas D’Agostino bagging a brace.
But on Saturday, the Western Australians found themselves on the receiving end of a thrashing. Carlo Armiento netted a double against Western United, although he was unable to prevent his side from losing 5-4.
With nine goals scored and eight goals conceded this season, Richard Garcia’s men have already provided us with plenty of entertainment in 2020/21. But I’m sure the head coach will be looking for his team to tighten things up defensively.
After all, you can expect to win games when you’re conceding over 2.5 goals every game.
Having said that, Victory has only managed to score one goal from two games this term, so they aren’t likely to pose Glory too many problems going forward.
Melbourne Victory vs. Perth Glory Pick
Perth Glory to Win2.55
If you look at the recent head-to-head record between these two teams, Victory should be in pole position to win on Tuesday. However, the Boys in Blue have made a dismal start to the new campaign.
On the other hand, Perth can’t stop scoring goals right now. Granted, their backline needs working on. But the Glory should have more than enough attacking firepower to see off Victory.
