Picks and for March Madness Round of 32, Saturday, March 19th, 2022

| March 18, 2022 8:32 pm PDT

The first round of the 2022 March Madness is officially over with lots of upsets. We got to see some great games with shocking results, but none other than No. 15 Saint Peter’s defeating the mighty No. 2 Kentucky.

That’s what March Madness is all about and these games are very hard to predict. Odds are, your bracket is already busted. I wouldn’t be too sad about that though, as you can still bet on the March Madness games to get back in on the action.

Let’s take a look at the odds for Saturday’s Round of 32 March Madness games and make our predictions. Once you’re ready to get into the action, consider using some of my favorite sites for betting on March Madness below.

March Madness Round of 32 Odds for Saturday

  • North Carolina (+5.5) -109 vs. Baylor (-5.5) -111, O/U 148.5
  • Creighton (+11.5) -105 vs. Kansas (-11.5) -115, O/U 140
  • Michigan (+6) -107 vs. Tennessee (-6) -113, O/U 136.5
  • Richmond (+2.5) -105 vs. Providence (-2.5) -115, O/U 134.5
  • Saint Mary’s (+2.5) -110 vs. UCLA (-2.5) -110, O/U 126
  • Saint Peter’s (+8.5) -110 vs. Murray State (-8.5) -110, O/U 129.5
  • New Mexico State (+6.5) -112 vs. Arkansas (-6.5) -108, O/U 138.5
  • Memphis (+10) -115 vs. Gonzaga (-10) -105, O/U 155

The games are slated to be a lot closer than they were yesterday. We saw multiple 20 point favorites in round one, but no team is favored by more than 12 on Saturday.

That should mean these games are going to be very close and very entertaining. They will be tough to predict, but we should stick to our research and recent trends to try and capitalize on these odds on BetOnline.

At first glance, we can see the heaviest favorites of the day being Kansas, Gonzaga, and Tennessee. These are some of the best teams in the entire tournament and they get some favorable matchups too.

They should all have high chances of winning, but covering the spread is going to be where the best odds are.

With that being said, let’s get right into our predicted winners for all of Saturday’s games.

Top Predictions for March Madness, Saturday, March 19th

  • Baylor Over North Carolina
  • Kansas Over Creighton
  • Tennessee Over Michigan
  • Richmond Over Providence
  • Saint Mary’s Over UCLA
  • Murray State Over Saint Peter’s
  • Arkansas Over New Mexico State
  • Gonzaga Over Memphis

The teams who pulled off upsets in the first round will not be underestimated moving forward. I have a couple of upset picks for this round, but these games should all be close.

Baylor vs. North Carolina will be a great game to watch despite Baylor being No. 1 and UNC being No. 8. That should be a close game, but the reigning champs should have the edge.

Kansas and Gonzaga are the other two No. 1s playing on Saturday. They take on No. 9s Creighton and Memphis respectively. Gonzaga didn’t play well in the first half against No. 16 Georgia State, but took off in the second half.

Tennessee is one of my favorite teams for the tournament and is matched up against No. 11 Michigan. The Wolverines had a great second half comeback against Colorado State, while Tennessee dominated Longwood in their previous games.

Richmond was able to upset No. 5 Iowa in their first round, who was making a deep run on a lot of people’s brackets this year. They also beat a tough Davidson team the game before that, so they’re playing well right now.

Saint Mary’s dominated Indiana, while UCLA barely skidded by No. 13 Akron. I have the Gaels taking care of business for a minor upset.

The biggest upset for this year was No. 15 Saint Peter’s beating No. 2 Kentucky. Beating Kentucky means you can basically beat any team, but they played out of their minds and Murray State won’t be taking them lightly.

I also have Arkansas taking care of New Mexico State after their upset win over Connecticut.

Best Bets for March Madness on March 19th, 2022

Tennessee -6-113
Creighton vs. Kansas Under 140-110
Arkansas -6.5-108

For my best bets of the day, I am taking Tennessee and Arkansas to cover and the under in Creighton vs. Kansas.

Tennessee gets a great matchup against the No. 11 seed in Michigan. Michigan went 18-14 this year and was terrible against the spread at 14-18. The Volunteers were much more impressive at 21-13.

Michigan was great in the second half with their 46 points, but they were losing by 7 to Colorado State after the first half. It won’t be easy to have a 46 point half against Tennessee, who was 9th in defensive rating this year.

I mostly like the under in the Creighton vs. Kansas game because of Creighton’s tendency to go under in their games. They hit the over against San Diego State in their last game, but went under in 21 out of their other 34 games (61.7%).

That should give the under a solid chance to hit and the point total is pretty high at 140 to begin with.

We were able to predict No. 12 New Mexico States upset over No. 5 Connecticut last week, but I think their ride ends this week.

Uconn struggled mightily ATS this year (13-19-1), while Arkansas is way better at 20-14.

That means the Razorbacks should be the ones with a strong chance to take care of the Aggies.
