Manchester City vs. Leicester City – English Premier League, September 27, 2020

Leicester’s sternest test of the season so far comes up on Sunday as Brendan Rodgers pits his side’s 100% record against the might of Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s team has only played one game so far but looked good for its win at Wolves and will be expecting more of the same here.
Latest Odds
It seems strange to see the league leaders with such long odds to win a game but Leicester will be up against it on Sunday in Manchester. There are a few injuries in the home squad but the favorites tag from BetOnline is fully justified and the Foxes will have to put on a good performance to come away with anything.
Manchester City vs. Leicester City Match Preview
Wolves away as a first game of the season could have been a problem for Manchester City. But the 3-1 victory highlighted the depth of the City squad while showing that it can still perform without some of its first choice defenders and strikers available.
Gabriel Jesus may well actually be the first choice up front now, with Sergio Aguero injured and not getting any younger. But Guardiola will be happy that Nathan Ake has fitted in so well at the back, while Rodrigo and Fernandinho allowed Kevin De Bruyne to show exactly why he is considered one of the best players in the world.
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers will need to work out how to stop the gifted Belgium midfielder – as well as the assortment of talent that the home side has at its disposal. The two wins to start the season off have been very good for the Foxes, but the caliber of opposition has been nowhere near the level of this weekend’s adversary.
But scoring four against Burnley last week, without the help of Jamie Vardy, will have pleased the Leicester boss, as the club remained at the top of the league going into this weekend’s fixtures. The arrival of Turkish sensation Cengiz Under on loan from Roma might also liven things up.
Prediction and Betting Pick
-
Manchester City to Win-333
Leicester has enjoyed a favorable start to the season so far but will be severely tested on Sunday – and the outcome could tell us a lot about how well Brendan Rodgers’ side actually is.
Missing out on the Champions League last season was a blow but it does look as though it is a team that will be able to compete with the very best once again – even if it will probably come off second best this weekend.
