Manchester City vs. Leeds United – English Premier League, April 10, 2021
Manchester City returns from European duty to resume its path to the Premier League title. Leeds is the opponent this Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side looks just about unstoppable at the moment, but Leeds has been one of the more adventurous teams in the EPL this season, and that could make for quite a game.
Manchester City vs. Leeds United Odds
Manchester City has lost just one game since the end of November (that local derby the week before Christmas), and has won every other one, so the bookmakers seem about right here.
Leeds has looked very good this season, but even these odds for a draw or away win do not seem large enough for any real interest.
Match Preview
It took a last-minute goal from Phil Foden to make the scoreline halfway respectable against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday. Guardiola will not be overly pleased with that but can still enjoy the fact that his side is still on course for four trophies this season.
The away win at Leicester last weekend showed that City can deal with tricky-looking fixtures at this stage of the season, and even Leeds’ attacking talent might not be able to break through the stingiest defense in the Premier League.
Sergio Aguero has been getting more of a run out since he announced he is to leave in the summer – so he could be one to look out for this weekend. Leeds will be without influential midfielder Jack Harrison, though, as he is not permitted to play against his parent club.
Despite that, the Argentinian head coach should still be able to rely on his players to perform to their usual game plans.
Last weekend’s Yorkshire derby win against Sheffield United made it three games unbeaten for the Elland Road outfit. A good end to the season could see Leeds climb into the top half of the table in its first season back in the English top flight.
A positive result this Saturday might be asking a bit too much, though.
Manchester City vs. Leeds United Betting Pick
-
Manchester City to Win-345
Manchester City has reached that stage of the season where it is a very risky proposition to back anyone against it. Pep Guardiola has his entire squad pulling in the same direction – and it has frankly looked a step above a lot of its opponents this year.
This should end up being another three points in pursuit of the title.
