Manchester City vs. Fulham – EPL, December 5, 2020

Around a quarter of a way through this season, and Manchester City still finds itself in mid-table and not firing on all cylinders as yet. Fulham at home would seem to be a sure banker – but this season has already proven to be unpredictable.

Fulham’s win away at Leicester on Monday is an excellent example of that, and manager Scott Parker will be hoping for an equally surprising result on Saturday.

Manchester City vs. Fulham Odds

Fulham to Win+2200

BetOnline has not taken that shock win for Fulham as an indication as to how this game might go this weekend. The Cottagers are big outsiders to pick up another vital three points. City hasn’t been all-conquering this season, but this one should be finishing in a home win – even if the odds are not of much interest.

Manchester City vs. Fulham Match Preview

Manchester City’s goal record had looked a little lackluster before the mauling of Burnley last weekend. Riyad Mahrez scored a hat-trick in that 5-0 rout, and he will be looking to add more this weekend against a Fulham side that has the worst defensive record in the Premier League.

The City win against Burnley was as straightforward as it gets for this team – and was the fourth time in a row that it had beaten Sean Dyche’s men by the same scoreline at home. With three points from its game in hand, City would be just three points off the leaders, so Pep Guardiola will be far from crisis mode at the moment.

Scott Parker will probably be just as happy with the way his team has been playing – albeit with differing results. The win against Leicester was as surprising as it was welcome, but Fulham has looked far better of late than in the opening weeks of the new season.

It will still be a long, hard season for the newly-promoted club. But it won’t be the complete disaster that some pundits predicted. Fulham will need to be just as organized as it was against Leicester to have any chance of coming away from the Etihad with any points, though.

Manchester City vs. Fulham Betting Pick

  • Manchester City to Win

You could have got some very good odds for Fulham to beat Leicester on Monday, but that has not swayed me into thinking that the price for an away win here is worth it. The home win bet is not really worth it either – but I would be interested to see what the total goals market looks like, as City seems to be back in the mood.
