Manchester City vs. Burnley – EPL, November 28, 2020

Pep Guardiola may have signed a new contract at Manchester City, but if results don’t take a turn for the better soon he may start to worry about the security of his job. City is in the lower half of the table and struggling for form.
Burnley has hardly begun the season very well – but a first win of the campaign last time out will give Sean Dyche’s men some confidence.
Manchester City vs. Burnley Odds
Despite Burnley’s win last week, the bookmakers have definitely not been persuaded that the team has much of a chance on Saturday.
That victory might have been warmly welcomed at Turf Moor but the odds for another victory are unsurprisingly high. Although the price for an away win might seem tempting, I just can’t see that happening.
Team Form
Manchester City fell to its second defeat of the season last weekend against a Spurs side that rocketed to the top of the table with the win. It wasn’t as though City played badly – but there was a sense of predictability once Guardiola’s men got anywhere near the goal.
That has been the main problem this season so far – Spurs have scored over double the number of goals – and the big scores of the last few years have seemingly deserted the team. Burnley at home looks like a perfect opportunity to change that. But this is not the City of old.
Sean Dyche will completely understand the odds offered by the bookmakers for this weekend’s game. But he will also be pleased with how his side picked up a win against Palace last week – and kept a clean sheet in the process. It has been hard for Burnley so far and the three points will act as a huge confidence booster.
That’s not to say that the Clarets should expect much from this one. Chris Wood may be able to unsettle the City defense a little – but he is unlikely to have that many chances. The main priority for Burnley will be working out how to stop Kevin De Bruyne in the middle of the pitch.
My Top Betting Pick
-
Manchester City to Win-629
This is priced as the most one-sided game of the weekend in the EPL and there would seem to be no way that City will lose at home. Goals markets might be worth investigating though.
City has struggled to find the net this season and there may be some value to be found there.
