Major League Soccer Predictions and Picks – Sunday, June 19 (2022)

Several heavy hitters are in action in Major League Soccer this Sunday, June 19. Defending MLS Cup champion New York City hosts the Colorado Rapids, who finished atop the Western Conference last season.
New England – the 2021 Supporters’ Shield winner – hosts Minnesota, while Inter Miami visits Atlanta. The fourth and final clash sees in-form Nashville welcome struggling Sporting KC to GEODIS Park.
I have already shared my predictions and picks for Saturday’s MLS games. In this post, however, I will be focusing solely on my MLS predictions and picks for Sunday, June 19. Let’s start by checking out the latest MLS odds.
Major League Soccer Odds for Sunday, June 19
- Atlanta United (-230) vs. Inter Miami (+660)
- New England Revolution (-170) vs. Minnesota United (+425)
- New York City (-180) vs. Colorado Rapids (+490)
- Nashville SC (-150) vs. Sporting Kansas City (+455)
I took these Major League Soccer odds from the BetOnline sportsbook. As you can see, BetOnline heavily favors all four home teams to win on Sunday.
Atlanta United is the biggest favorite, but New York City, New England, and Nashville are all expected to make light work of their respective visitors. Can any of the outsiders upset the MLS odds?
MLS Predictions for Sunday, June 19
It’s time to get stuck into my Major League Soccer predictions for Sunday, June 19. I will be sharing my predictions for all MLS games on Sunday before going over Sunday’s top MLS betting picks.
Atlanta United vs. Inter Miami Prediction
All of a sudden, Atlanta United sits two points and two places behind Inter Miami in the Eastern Conference. When did that happen?
Well, the Five Stripes have only managed to win one of their last eight MLS outings – registering three draws and four losses along the way. It is also worth noting that Atlanta heads into Sunday’s clash on a three-game winless run.
Let’s not forget that Phil Neville’s men lost six of their first ten matches, though. Despite their impressive recent form, I can see them struggling to claim all three points at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
New England Revolution vs. Minnesota United Prediction
On Wednesday, the Revs extended their unbeaten streak to seven games with a 1-1 draw against Orlando City. Carles Gil grabbed New England’s goal, taking his tally for the season to four goals and seven assists.
By contrast, Minnesota has managed to win just one of their last six MLS clashes – suffering four defeats in the process. To make matters worse for the Loons, only last-place SKC has scored fewer goals in the Western Conference this year.
I’m backing Bruce Arena’s boys to extend their unbeaten run to eight games with a straightforward victory over off-form Minnesota.
New York City vs. Colorado Rapids Prediction
Can anyone stop New York City?
Not only have the 2021 MLS Cup champions won their last six games in all competitions, but they have also avoided defeat in each of their previous 11. Better still, they head into the weekend on the back of five straight clean sheets.
- New York City – 10
- Philadelphia Union – 10
- FC Dallas – 13
- LA Galaxy – 15
- Minnesota United – 15
It’s safe to say that things are going pretty well at the opposite end of the field, too. Thanks largely to the exploits of 2022 Golden Boot winner Valentin Castellanos, the Bronx Blues are the second-highest scorers in the East.
The Rapids have lost four of their past six matches across all competitions and have only managed to win three of their previous 12. The contrasting form of these two sides suggests that NYCFC will claim all three points on Sunday.
Nashville SC vs. Sporting Kansas City Prediction
Sporting KC is rooted at the foot of the Western Conference after winning just three of their 16 MLS outings this season. The Wizards are the lowest scorers in the West, while no team has conceded more goals.
It doesn’t get much worse than that.
Sixth-place Nashville leads last-place SKC by ten points. With that in mind, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that I’m backing the team from Tennessee to crush the Kansas City strugglers.
Best MLS Bets for Sunday, June 19
Since the odds for all the home wins are relatively low, I have decided to explore the handicap markets and goal-based wagers for Sunday’s Major League Soccer picks. Let’s go over the best MLS bets for Sunday, June 19.
This season, ten of Atlanta’s 13 MLS games have produced over 2.5 goals. For that reason, I expect the Five Stripes and Inter Miami to dish up a high-scoring encounter in Georgia.
In my eyes, the BTTS wager is the best bet for New England Revolution vs. Minnesota United. Why? Because 12 of New England’s 15 MLS clashes have seen both teams score.
Last but not least, I’m confident that Nashville will get the better of lowly Sporting KC. Nashville’s price of -150 is the most attractive price for a home win on Sunday, so I’m happy to opt for that.
