Week 10 of the 2022 Major League Soccer season gets underway this Saturday, May 7. With no fewer than 11 games to get our teeth into, it’s about time I shared my MLS predictions for Saturday.

Not only will I be providing my predictions, but I will also be going over the top MLS picks for Saturday, May 7. Having scored the best Major League Soccer betting sites, I have found several standout picks.

First, let’s check out the latest MLS odds.

Interestingly, BetOnline favors ten of the 11 home teams on Saturday. San Jose is the only home side that is not favored to claim all three points. However, it is worth noting that Colorado has exactly the same price as San Jose.

Which away teams will upset the MLS betting odds this Saturday? I’ll break that down below. If you’re ready to get to betting right now, though, feel free to check out BetOnline.

Major League Soccer Predictions for Saturday, May 7

Are you ready for Saturday’s MLS predictions? Below, I cover three featured games in detail before sharing the rest of my Major League Soccer predictions for Saturday.

New York City vs. Sporting Kansas City Prediction

It wouldn’t be unfair to say that New York City made a dreadful start to the 2022 campaign. Despite securing the MLS Cup last year, the Bronx Blues managed to win just one of their first five matches this season.

Since then, however, the defending champions have been unstoppable. Following huge victories over Real Salt Lake (6-0), Toronto FC (5-4), and San Jose (3-0), they head into Week 10 on a three-game winning streak.

On the flip side, Sporting Kansas City has failed to get going in 2022. Not only have the Wizards lost six of their ten outings this season, but they have also failed to any of their previous five.

Peter Vermes’ men have netted a measly eight goals this year, meaning they are the second-lowest scorers in the Western Conference. By contrast, the Bronx Blues are the top scorers in the East with 19 goals to their name.

You probably won’t be surprised to learn that I’m backing the reigning champs to extend their winning streak to four games on Saturday.

My Prediction for New York City vs. Sporting Kansas City: New York City to Win

San Jose Earthquakes vs. Colorado Rapids Prediction

After winning just one of their nine games this season, the Earthquakes find themselves second from bottom in the West. Only one team – Vancouver – has picked up fewer points than San Jose in 2022.

To make matter worse for the Quakes,
they have the worst defensive record in the entire league. Having conceded 23 goals in nine games (2.55 goals per game), they are already six points behind Colorado.

The Rapids have made something of an inconsistent start to the campaign, recording three wins, three draws, and three losses. That said, they have only suffered two defeats across their previous eight outings.

Fresh from claiming an impressive 2-0 victory over Portland, the Rapids shouldn’t struggle to dispatch struggling San Jose. Let’s not forget that Colorado finished atop the Western Conference last year.

My Prediction for San Jose Earthquakes vs. Colorado Rapids: Colorado Rapids to Win

Los Angeles FC vs. Philadelphia Union Prediction

This matchup brings together the best in the West and the top team in the East. LAFC and Philadelphia have both made strong starts to the season, but who will come out on top in California?

Philly has registered five wins, three draws, and one loss this year. It is also worth noting that Jim Curtin’s men have conceded just six goals, meaning they have the best defensive record in Major League Soccer.

As for LAFC, they have picked up seven wins, one draw, and one loss in 2022. Having netted 21 goals in nine games (2.33 goals per game), Steve Cherundolo’s boys are the second-highest scorers in the league.

Thanks to the exploits of Carlos Vela (4 goals, 2 assists), Jose Cifuentes (2 goals, 2 assists), and Cristian Arango (2 goals, 1 assist), the Californians have won six of their past seven MLS encounters.

Granted, Philly has made a strong start to the campaign. But LAFC is on a different level right now. I’m backing Cherundolo’s boys to maintain their hot streak with a statement victory over the Union.

My Prediction for Los Angeles FC vs. Philadelphia Union: Los Angeles FC to Win

Remaining MLS Predictions for Saturday, May 7

  • Charlotte FC and Inter Miami to Draw
  • CF Montreal to Beat Orlando City
  • Atlanta United to Beat Chicago Fire
  • New York Red Bulls to Beat Portland Timbers
  • Houston Dynamo to Beat DC United
  • New England Revolution and Columbus Crew to Draw
  • Minnesota United to Beat FC Cincinnati
  • FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders to Draw

I expect Montreal, Atlanta, RBNY, and Minnesota to win on home soil in Week 10. Elsewhere, I’m backing Houston to win at DC United. As you can see, I have also opted for three draws on Saturday.

Top MLS Picks for Saturday, May 7, 2022

CF Montreal vs. Orlando City – Both Teams to Score-154
Atlanta United vs. Chicago Fire – Atlanta United to Win-130
New York City vs. Sporting Kansas City – New York City –1 Handicap+130
San Jose Earthquakes vs. Colorado Rapids – Colorado Rapids to Win+165

This season, both teams have scored in eight of Montreal’s nine games. The BTTS wager is definitely the best bet for CF Montreal vs. Orlando City.

I’m backing Atlanta United to beat Chicago Fire and Colorado to beat San Jose. I especially like the look of Colorado’s price to beat San Jose, given that the Quakes have the worst defensive record in the league.

Last but not least, I recommend adding the –1 handicap onto the New York City win. The Bronx Blues head into Week 10 on the back of three high-scoring victories, so I can see them demolishing struggling SKC.
