Major League Soccer Predictions and Picks – Monday, July 4 (2022)
LA Galaxy vs. CF Montreal headlines the Major League Soccer schedule on Monday, July 4. Three of the West’s top six are in action on Monday, with Austin visiting Colorado and Dallas hosting Inter Miami.
We also have an all-Eastern Conference clash to look forward to, as Orlando welcomes DC United to Florida. Can the Black-and-Red leave the foot of the standings? Or will the Lions heap more misery on the cellar-dwellers?
You can find my MLS predictions and betting picks for Monday below. First, we need to look at the latest MLS odds.
Major League Soccer Odds for Monday, July 4
- Orlando City (-106) vs. DC United (+250)
- Colorado Rapids (-125) vs. Austin FC (+300)
- FC Dallas (-163) vs. Inter Miami (+375)
- LA Galaxy (-125) vs. CF Montreal (+280)
As you can see, Betway favors all four home teams to win on Monday. Dallas has the shortest price, but Orlando, Colorado, and LA Galaxy are also expected to claim all three points on home soil.
The LA Galaxy vs. CF Montreal odds are particularly interesting. Although the Canadians find themselves atop the Eastern Conference, it’s the Californians who are heavily favored to run away with the victory.
MLS Predictions for Monday, July 4, 2022
It’s time to go over Monday’s MLS predictions. Once my predictions are out of the way, I will share my recommended MLS picks with you.
Orlando City vs. DC United Prediction
Last weekend, DC United’s season went from bad to worse. The Black-and-Red suffered a 3-1 defeat to Nashville, meaning they have lost four of their last five outings.
When you look at the bigger picture, DC has suffered nine defeats in 15 MLS games this year. No wonder they find themselves at the foot of the overall standings!
On the flip side, Orlando sits fifth in the East – 11 points clear of the bottom. Having lost just six of their 17 league matches in 2022, the Lions should make light work of lowly DC United.
Colorado Rapids vs. Austin FC Prediction
What has happened to Colorado?
Last season, the Rapids finishes atop the Western Conference. Fast-forward to today – they find themselves third from bottom in the West after winning just five of their 16 games in 2022.
Better still, only LAFC has scored more goals than Austin this season. The Rapids are the second-lowest scorers in the West, so I’m confident that Austin will outscore Colorado on Monday.
FC Dallas vs. Inter Miami Prediction
Dallas made a seriously strong start to the campaign, suffering a single defeat across the first 11 rounds. Since then, however, the Texans have registered four losses in six games.
Granted, Dallas remains five points clear of Inter Miami in the overall standings. But Inter Miami will be confident of getting something from Monday’s clash after enjoying an eye-catching turnaround.
I expect Inter Miami to frustrate Dallas on Monday. The Herons may struggle to claim all three points in Texas, but I can see them leaving the Lone Star State with a point in the bag.
LA Galaxy vs. CF Montreal Prediction
To say that Montreal is enjoying an impressive 2022 campaign would be an understatement. As we head into Week 17, the Canadians find themselves atop the Eastern Conference with the best offensive record.
Montreal comes into this clash on a run of three wins in four games, having dispatched Cincinnati, Charlotte, and Seattle in recent weeks. That is not good news for the Galaxy.
Greg Vanney’s men have only managed to win two of their past eight outings across all competitions. Following red cards for Kevin Cabral and Douglas Costa in Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to Minnesota, the Galaxy looks set to suffer another defeat on Monday.
Best MLS Betting Picks for Monday, July 4
- Orlando City vs. DC United – Over 2.5 Goals (-138)
- Colorado Rapids vs. Austin FC – Austin FC to Win (+300)
- FC Dallas vs. Inter Miami – Both Teams to Score (-125)
- LA Galaxy vs. CF Montreal – CF Montreal to Win (+280)
Nine of DC United’s 15 MLS games have produced over 2.5 goals this season, including three of the previous four. DC has one of the worst defensive records in the East, so I can see Orlando enjoying plenty of success on Monday.
The odds for Austin and Montreal to win on the road are simply too tasty to ignore. Austin and Montreal are in excellent form at the moment, so I expect them to get the better of Colorado and LA Galaxy, respectively.
With two clashes this Saturday and eight on Sunday, there is no shortage of Major League Soccer betting opportunities on the horizon. Follow the links below to check out my MLS predictions and picks for the weekend’s games.
