Mahoning Valley Race Course Picks – Wednesday, February 10, 2021

| February 9, 2021 2:26 pm PDT

Mahoning Valley Race Course brings us a nine-race card of mostly allowance and claiming matches for our Wednesday wagering and entertainment.

Remember that Mahoning is open to spectators, so dress warmly if you plan to attend: The races Wednesday will take place under cloudy skies, with highs around 27 degrees, winds at five mph, and a 20% chance of snow.

This might be a great time to mention that you can find Mahoning Valley’s entire nine-race card for Wednesday — including entries, jockeys, M/L odds, and wagering options — at one of our top horse racing betting sites.

Whichever way you decide to enjoy the competition, read on for my Mahoning Valley Race Course picks for the richest three races for Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

Picks for Race 1 at Mahoning Valley Race Course

This is an allowance race for Ohio-bred three-year-olds and upward running a distance of one mile for a purse of $30,500.

My money is on the 9/5 morning line favorite in this race — Who Dat Mo, ridden by Sonny Leon. This five-year-old gelding finished in the money for nine of his 18 career starts, winning three.

And at 10/1, Tancahua, with Yuri Yaranga aboard, looks good for a value show wager. This six-year-old gelding moneyed 22 of his 36 career starts, winning two.

  •  Win: Who Dat Mo 9/5
  •  Show: Tancahua 10/1

Picks for Race 2 at Mahoning Valley Race Course

This is an allowance race for three-year-old fillies running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $21,200.

I’m backing the second-favored (3/1) entry in this run — Itzafriendshipshot, with Fernando Becerra in the irons. This filly moneyed four of her six career starts, winning one, giver her a strong statistical edge over the morning line favorite.

At 10/1, Qui, ridden by Edgar Paucar, looks good for a show ticket. This filly finished in the money for two of her four career starts, winning one.

  •  Win: Itzafriendshipshot 3/1
  •  Show: Qui 10/1

Pick for Race 3 at Mahoning Valley Race Course

This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of six furlongs for a purse of $21,200.

I like the second half of the third-favored (7/2) coupled entry — Quickpay, with Sonny Leon aboard. This five-year-old mare moneyed eight of her ten career starts, winning one.

For comparison, the morning line favorite moneyed six of her eleven starts, with one win.

I don’t see any long-odds entries in this race with a realistic shot at finishing in the money.

  •  Win: Quickpay 7/2
