This is one of those “least worst” races, and I’m agreeing with the morning line that the 5/2 favorite, Hanging Lake, with Jose A. Guerrero in the irons, fits the criteria. This four-year-old filly moneyed ten of her 19 career starts, winning one of them.

There’s only one long-odds entry in this race, and you should save your money.

This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running about 7-1/2 furlongs on turf for a purse of $20,500.

With evenly-matched jockeys across the four morning line frontrunners, I see no reason not to back the second-favored (4/1) Shallow River, piloted by Carlos Lozada. This four-year-old filly moneyed ten of her 11 career starts, winning three of them.

I don’t see any longer-odds entries in this race that merit a show ticket, so let’s save our longshot money for something better, like lunch. Okay, I suppose if you must place a show bet, however picayune the return, then buy a show ticket on the 9/2 Kona Katie, with Gerardo Mora aboard. This five-year-old mare finished in the money nine of her 22 starts, winning five of them.
