Lotte Giants vs. LG Twins Betting Preview – KBO, Friday, September 18, 2020

| September 17, 2020 10:13 am PDT

It seemed like the Twins were far from their best after some poor results recently, but they certainly delivered an excellent performance in the series opener against the Lions. The team was better in every component of the game and will enter the second clash full of confidence.

I share my expectations on the fixture in this Lotte Giants vs. LG Twins betting preview. The post includes the latest odds and lines, team news, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

Giants vs. Twins Odds

Lotte Giants to win+125
LG Twins to win-155
Lotte Giants (+1.5)-160
LG Twins (-1.5)+130
Over 9-120
Under 9-110

The Lotte Giants vs. LG Twins odds on the best sports betting sites suggest that the second game of the series should be closer and I can certainly see why. And yet, the Twins remain the deserved favorite, based on what we saw on Thursday.

Lotte Giants Team Analysis

The Lotte Giants had a good run recently, winning seven of their last ten games before the start of the series against the Twins. That was enough to bring them only several victories behind the fifth place in the KBO standings.

That’s when the team was served a harsh reality check on Thursday. Despite sending the better starting pitcher out there, Lotte was destroyed by the opponent and looked hopeless for large periods of the game.

I’m not sure that we could expect anything that different on Friday. The offense is obviously struggling and the biggest hope for a win is related to Adrian Sampson. The pitcher will get the nod and he’s been fantastic lately, but his overall stats over the course of the season are not exactly flattering.

His best games so far came against teams from the bottom of the table, so I wouldn’t read too much into his last several performances.

LG Twins Team Analysis

The Twins had to rediscover their offense and that’s exactly what they did in the previous two games. Scoring eleven against Hanwha is not exactly an achievement, but the nine runs in the opener against the Giants are something different.

It looks like the team has recovered from the short slump and I expect another good result in game two on Friday. It’s Chan Heon Jung’s turn to start and he has a 3.84 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP so far. The pitcher has been consistent throughout the season, so he should be able to contain the opponent for most of the clash.

If the offense turns up once again, the Twins should be able to win this game comfortably.

Giants vs. Twins Prediction and Pick

LG’s starting pitcher and better offense should bring the team another victory on Sunday. I don’t think that the Giants have what it takes to challenge the favorite with that starting pitcher, so I’m picking the Twins.
