The Miami Heat displayed perhaps the bravest performance of this year’s NBA playoffs as they beat the Los Angeles Lakers 115-104 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals despite playing without two of the most important players – Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo.

Erik Spoelstra’s side showed resilience and strength when nobody expected that from them, and now the Lakers will have to work hard to get to a 3-1 lead in the series. The Game 4 tip-off is set at 9 PM ET.

These inter-conference foes have faced four times this season, and the Lakers are leading the series 3-1. Check out my Lakers vs. Heat betting pick for Game 4.

Lakers vs. Heat Odds

Lakers -7.5 -110
Heat +7.5 -110
Lakers to win -278
Heat to win +254
Over 218.5 -110
Under 218.5 -110

The Heat surprised everyone with a brave Game 3 display and the sportsbooks lowered the spread on the Lakers from -7.5 to 8.5, while the total remains the same at 218.5. The rivals combined for Over in two of three games in this series, and the most recent clash produced 219 points, which was a blessing for the ones who bet on the Over.

Lakers Analysis

Los Angeles was expected to take Game 3 without trouble as they did in the opening two games of the series. This time around, though, the Lakers had an advantage in terms of Miami’s absentees Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo but failed to exploit it, and instead of a commanding 3-0 lead, they now have to work with a 2-1 lead. Frank Vogel’s team was inferior for the big part of the game and shot only 43.0% from the floor while committing even 19 turnovers opposite Miami’s 12.

LeBron James led the Lakers with a double-double of 25 points and team-high ten rebounds, along with team-high eight assists, and two blocks. Markieff Morris added 19 points and six boards, Kyle Kuzma scored 19 points, while Anthony Davis ended the tilt with 15 points, five rebounds, and two thefts.

Heat Analysis

The Heat played the best game of the series and deserved to win Game 3 even though they were seriously weakened. They shot over 50.0% from the floor and displayed a strong performance in the final 12 minutes, but one man stood up and overshadowed all the other players on the court.

Jimmy Butler posted a triple-double of 40 points, game-high 13 assists, and game-high 11 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Kelly Olynyk contributed with 17 points and seven boards, Tyler Herro scored 17 points, Duncan Robinson had 13 points, five rebounds, and two thefts, while Jae Crowder finished the game with 12 points and eight boards.

Lakers vs. Heat Betting Pick

Miami displayed the best offensive performance of the series even though they played without Dragic and Adebayo. Dragic is doubtful to feature in Game 4, but Bam is pretty close to returning, and I reckon the Heat will only score more points with one of them on the floor.

On the other hand, the Lakers know they must improve offensively and that only 110+ points can secure them a win, so I am going with Over in this encounter. Two of three duels in this series went Over, and I am backing the rivals to make it three in a row on Tuesday.
