Liverpool vs. West Ham United – EPL, October 31, 2020

Liverpool may sit in second place in the table, level on points with Everton after six games, but it is been far from plain sailing for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this season.

West Ham makes the trip to Anfield on Saturday buoyed by the draws with Spurs and Manchester City in the last two weeks.

West Ham United to Win+560

It is difficult to go for anything but a Liverpool win at home – its unbeaten run at Anfield has now extended to 62 games in all competitions now – but there is a fragility in the team that wasn’t there last season. The odds from BetOnline odds just about right here, but West Ham could give the home side a good game on Saturday.

Liverpool vs. West Ham Match Preview

Liverpool was able to come back from a goal down against Sheffield United last weekend to keep that incredible unbeaten home record going but the games are much closer than season than at this time last year. With Everton doing so well, it is a good time for the city – and the title race promises to be far closer this season.

Although there are obviously some things to work on, Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with the way that new signing Diogo Jota has fitted into the side. He has become a very important part of an attack that was thought to be difficult to improve on just last season.

All of the Liverpool attacking players will look forward to running at the West Ham defense. But the home team’s defenders will not be relishing having to deal with Michail Antonio on Saturday. The Hammers striker is a real handful and scored a wonderful goal against Manchester City last week.

Antonio will be able to play against a Liverpool backline without Virgil van Dijk and will be confident that he can bully whoever he comes up against him – just as he has done all season. West Ham has looked surprisingly good so far this year and will not be short of confidence going to Anfield.

Liverpool vs. West Ham Betting Pick

  • Liverpool to Win

I fully expect West Ham to make a good game of this one on Saturday. But beating Liverpool at home is another level. Klopp’s team always seems to find the extra energy needed to pick up all three points, even when it hasn’t played that well. We could see yet another example of that this weekend.
