Liverpool vs. RB Leipzig Betting Preview – Champions League, March 10, 2021

Jurgen Klopp’s men will be hoping that they can put their domestic struggles to one side when RB Leipzig visits Anfield on Wednesday, March 10.

Liverpool carries a 2-0 advantage in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie against the Red Bulls, yet the defending EPL champions have lost three of their four games since the first leg.

Still, the Reds reminded everyone of what they are capable of by sealing an impressive 2-0 win over Leipzig in the first leg. Goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane gave Liverpool a cushy victory, although it is tough to predict how the English side will fare on Wednesday.

If Klopp’s men are at their best, they shouldn’t have too many problems. But if they carry their domestic woes onto the European stage, they could find themselves in serious trouble.

Many believed that Leipzig would get the better of off-form Liverpool three weeks ago. But as it turned out, the German side was outclassed by the EPL champs.

However, since the first leg, Julian Nagelsmann’s men have enjoyed plenty of success.

A six-match winning streak in the Bundesliga has seen Leipzig score 15 goals, including three in each of their previous three outings. Better still, the German team has kept four clean sheets across their last six league matches.

At this stage in the season, Bayern Munich is usually miles clear at the Bundesliga summit. But as things standing, Leipzig is only two points behind the Bavarian giant – and eight points clear of third-place Wolfsburg!

Forwards Christopher Nkunku and Alexander Sorloth have been finding the net consistently in recent games. If they can pick up where they left off in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Freiburg, they could punish Liverpool’s shaky backline.

Given that Liverpool seems drained of confidence right now, backing Leipzig to win the second leg at the hugely attractive price of 2.90 feels like an opportunity not to be missed.

The Red Bulls can’t stop winning at the moment, while on the flip side, Liverpool just can’t seem to pick up positive results. Having taken everything into consideration, all the signs are pointing towards a Leipzig win on Wednesday.
