Liverpool vs. Burnley – EPL, January 21, 2021

Liverpool welcomes Burnley to Anfield on Thursday, having not scored in its last three EPL games – and not won in its last four.
Burnley will feel as though it has a good chance of extending that misery but has only won one of its last four itself – and still isn’t scoring any goals. Something will have to give this week, surely?
Liverpool vs. Burnley Odds
Given Liverpool’s recent poor record, there might be some that are tempted by BetOnline’s odds for the draw, or even the away win here. But even though the home side has drawn with both Newcastle and West Brom in the last month, it would be a big surprise to drop points yet again to Burnley.
Liverpool vs. Burnley Match Preview
Liverpool had more of the ball in its game with Manchester United at the weekend but rarely looked like scoring, even with the skill of Thiago lighting up the Anfield gloom. Although Liverpool hasn’t scored in its last three games, it may not be the fault of the attacking players. Klopp has had to move midfielders into his defense, and that seems to have had a knock-on effect.
The loss, through injury, of Diogo Jota has also been a real problem for Klopp. Even with so many talented goal scorers in his team, it was the Portugal international that had started to look the most dangerous before he was ruled out. Burnley should be beatable on Thursday – but there will be some nerves on show at Anfield now.
Sean Dyche will be looking forward to this one, even though his Burnley side has also faltered since the start of the year. Performances have not been terrible, but the Clarets have won just one of their last four games and only scored the one goal in all that time.
There was further improvement from Dwight McNeil in the 1-0 loss to West Ham at the weekend, but Burnley has only scored nine league goals all season – the lowest in the entire EPL. There probably won’t be many chances here to add to that tally, but a goalless draw would be considered a good result for the visitors.

Liverpool to Win-500
The return of Thiago at the weekend added an extra level of skill to the Liverpool team, and he could be the one that gets things going again at Anfield. You get the feeling that Klopp’s side only needs one big win to get things back on track and, although Burnley is hard to break down, this could turn out to be that game.
