Liga MX Predictions and Betting Picks for Round 10 (March 11-13, 2022)

| March 9, 2022 3:48 am PDT

Last weekend, we saw ugly scenes both on and off the field in Mexico. Liga MX was temporarily suspended, but Round 10 of the Clausura campaign is set to go ahead as planned.

Round 10 kicks off Friday, March 11. Necaxa and Queretaro get the action underway before Jaurez and Atlas go head-to-head. Saturday’s standout clash sees Leon host Tigres, with unbeaten Puebla visiting San Luis on Sunday.

In this post, I share my Liga MX predictions for Round 10 – along with a handful of top betting picks. Let’s get the ball rolling with my Leon vs. Tigres prediction.

Leon and Tigres UANL to Draw

Just two points separate fourth-place Leon and third-place UANL in the La Liga standings. However, it is worth noting that UANL has a game in hand on Leon.

The Tigers have lost only one of their eight matches this season, picking up five wins and two draws along the way. They head into Round 10 on a six-match unbeaten streak, having secured five consecutive victories across January and February.

On the flip side, Leon has suffered two defeats in nine Clausura clashes. Ariel Holan’s boys have won five of their previous seven in all competitions, keeping five clean sheets in the process.

There is very little between Leon and UANL right now. For that reason, I expect them to play out a draw this weekend.

Guadalajara to Beat Club America

Club America’s fall from grace has been nothing short of astonishing. The Eagles suffered two losses in 17 games as they finished six points clear of second-place Atlas in the Apertura standings. Fast-forward to today – they find themselves rock bottom of the Clausura table.

Not only have the Eagles picked up just a single win this term, but they have also lost five of their previous eight encounters. As a result, they are a whopping 15 points behind first-place Puebla.

Guadalajara, on the other hand, sits ninth in the standings – five points clear of America. Marcelo Michel Leano’s men beat Santos Laguna last weekend, extending their unbeaten streak to two games.

It is also worth noting that only the top three teams have netted more goals than Guadalajara this season. With 15 goals to their name, I’m backing the free-scoring goats to dispatch the low-flying Eagles on Saturday.

Pachuca to Beat Toluca

Pachuca heads into Round 10 on a three-match winning run, having beaten America, Mazatlan, and Atlas. The Gophers have won six of their eight Clausura clashes this year, suffering a solitary defeat along the way.

Thanks largely to the exploits of Nicolas Ibanez, Guillermo Almada’s men find themselves just two points behind league-leading Puebla. The Argentine has already bagged six goals and one assist this term.

By contrast, the Red Devils have only managed to win one of their previous four outings. Following a strong start to the campaign, Toluca appears to be heading in the wrong direction after a series of negative results.

I’m confident that Pachuca will extend their unbeaten streak to six games this weekend.

Puebla to Beat Atletico San Luis

Can anyone beat Puebla?

Following last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Cruz Azul, Puebla still hasn’t tasted defeat this term. Thanks to a run of six wins and three draws, Nicolas Larcamon’s boys hold a two-point lead at the Liga MX summit.

No team has scored more goals than La Franja, while only two sides have conceded fewer. That tells you everything you need to know about Puebla’s recent rise.

As for Los Atleticos, they sit third from bottom in the standings after losing five of their eight Clausura matches. Having claimed just two wins all season, San Luis looks set to suffer another defeat this weekend.

Remaining Liga MX Predictions for Round 10

Here are the rest of my Liga MX Round 10 predictions.

  • Necaxa and Queretaro to Draw
  • Atlas to Beat Juarez
  • Cruz Azul to Beat Pumas UNAM
  • Monterrey to Beat Mazatlan
  • Club Tijuana to Beat Santos Laguna

Since thirteenth-place Necaxa and fourteenth-place Queretaro are locked on eight points, I expect them to play out a draw on Friday night. In Friday’s late kick-off, I’m backing Atlas to get the better of Jaurez.

I can see Cruz Azul and Monterrey beating UNAM and Mazatlan, respectively. Mazatlan sits second from bottom in the standings after suffering five losses in eight matches, so Monterrey should secure a big win on Saturday.

Finally, I’m backing Club Tijuana to seal a road victory against Santos Laguna. Tijuana has picked up three wins across the past five rounds. On the flip side, Santos has claimed just two wins all season.

Best Liga MX Bets for Round 10

It’s time to check out my recommended Liga MX betting picks for Round 10. If you like the look of my selections, why not head over to the best soccer betting sites to try your luck?

Juarez vs. Atlas – Atlas to Win2.25
Guadalajara vs. Club America – Over 2.5 Goals2.25
Atletico San Luis vs. Puebla – Puebla to Win2.40

I’m backing Atlas to dispatch Jaurez this weekend. The reigning Apertura champions have lost only two of their nine Clausura matches, while Jaurez has managed to pick up just two wins this season.

This term, seven of Guadalajara’s nine games have dished up over 2.5 goals. Although the Goats are among the top scorers, they also have one of the worst defensive records. I can see their clash with America producing plenty of goals.

With six draws and three losses to their name, Puebla looks unstoppable at the moment. Given that San Luis sits third from bottom in the standings, Puebla’s price of 2.40 cannot be ignored.
