Liga MX Predictions and Best Bets for Round 11 – March 17-20, 2022
Round 11 of the Liga MX Clausura 2022 campaign is on the horizon. The action gets underway this Thursday, March 17, with fellow strugglers Queretaro and San Luis going head-to-head at the Estadio Corregidora.
In this post, I will be sharing my Liga MX predictions for Round 11 – along with my recommended betting picks. Let’s get the ball rolling by checking out the Round 11 Liga MX schedule.
- Queretaro vs. Atletico San Luis
- Puebla vs. Santos Laguna
- Pumas UNAM vs. Necaxa
- Tigres UANL vs. Monterrey
- Pachuca vs. Cruz Azul
- Club America vs. Toluca
- Atlas vs. Guadalajara
- Mazatlan vs. Club Leon
- Club Tijuana vs. Juarez
Pachuca has the chance to secure five straight wins when Cruz Azul visits the Estadio Hidalgo on Saturday. Elsewhere, Club America will be looking to kick-start their campaign against Toluca.
I have chosen to feature three standout games below. Once my initial Liga MX predictions are complete, you will be able to find the rest of my predictions and picks for Round 11.
Puebla to Beat Santos Laguna
Last weekend, Puebla FINALLY tasted defeat for the first time this season. Despite racking up 66% possession and 22 shots, La Franja was beaten 2-1 by Atletico San Luis – with Efrain Orona scoring a 96th-minute winner.
Santos Laguna heads into Round 11 having picked up just three wins in ten outings this season. As a result, the Warriors find themselves eleventh in the Liga MX standings – ten points behind second-place Puebla.
It is also worth noting that La Franja boasts the fourth-best defensive record in the league. That is just another reason why I’m backing Puebla to beat Santos.
Pachuca to Beat Cruz Azul
If you think Puebla’s record is impressive, wait until you learn about Pachuca’s recent form. Despite having played one game fewer than Puebla, Pachuca is sitting pretty atop the Liga MX table.
The league leaders have won seven of their nine matches this season, registering one draw and one loss along in the process. They are also the joint-top scorers in the league, having netted 20 goals – the same number as Tigres.
I’m confident that Guillermo Almada’s men will extend their winning run to five matches this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, Cruz Azul is a strong team. But Pachuca is on a totally different level at the moment.
Club America to Beat Toluca
Believe it or not, Club America comes into Round 11 on a six-game winless streak. The Eagles finished six points clear at the summit of the Apertura standings, but they currently find themselves second from bottom in the Clausura table.
That said, the visit of off-from Toluca provides them with the perfect opportunity to get back on track. Why? Because the Red Devils have only managed to win one of their previous five encounters, suffering three defeats along the way.
Let’s not forget that America’s roster is stacked with top players. I expect the likes of Richard Sanchez, Diego Valdes, and Sebastian Caceres to play a key role in the Eagles’ revival – starting this weekend.
More Liga MX Round 11 Predictions
Here are the rest of my Liga MX predictions for Round 11
- Queretaro and Atletico San Luis to Draw
- Pumas UNAM to Beat Necaxa
- Tigres UANL to Beat Monterrey
- Atlas to Beat Guadalajara
- Club Leon to Beat Mazatlan
- Club Tijuana and Juarez to Draw
With only two points separating sixteenth-place Queretaro and fourteenth-place San Luis, the teams look set to play out a draw at the Estadio Morelos. I also expect Club Tijuana and Jaurez to draw on Sunday.
I’m confident that Pumas, Tigres, and Atlas will secure home wins in Round 11. They all have favorable fixtures on the horizon, meaning they shouldn’t struggle to claim all three points on home soil.
The last of my Round 11 Liga MX predictions concerns Mazatlan vs. Club Leon. With last-place Mazatlan trailing sixth-place Leon by eight points, I’m backing Leon to claim a road victory on Sunday.
Top Liga MX Betting Picks for Round 11
I have scoured the best soccer betting sites to find the top picks for Liga MX Round 11.
- Puebla vs. Santos Laguna – Puebla to Win (2.10)
- Tigres UANL vs. Monterrey – Both Teams to Score (1.73)
- Atlas vs. Guadalajara – Atlas to Win (1.95)
I’m struggling to figure out why Puebla is priced at 2.10 to beat Santos. Given that Larcamon’s boys have lost just one of their ten matches this season, I recommend jumping on these odds ASAP.
Although I predicted that Tigres will beat Monterrey, it could be a close game. For that reason, I’m backing both teams to score. The Tigers are the joint-top scorers in Liga MX, but they also have the worst defensive record in the top six.
Atlas boasts the joint-best defensive record and has picked up five wins in ten games. But contrast, Guadalajara has won just three matches this season and has conceded twice as many goals as Atlas. Need I say more?
