The LG Twins looked set for a higher seed in the KBO Playoffs, but several unexpected defeats led to fourth place in the standings at the end of the regular season. The team’s offense has been way too inconsistent lately and that has been a problem.

We saw something similar in the opening clash against the Kiwoom Heroes. The Twins were on the brink of losing in the extra innings, but that’s when the batters showed up to turn it around.

It was a nervy game by LG and I expect something similar versus the Bears. Lee Min-Ho should start for the Twins and he has decent stats this season. Both his ERA and WHIP are respectable, but the pitcher is only 19. The lack of experience could be a problem against an opponent like the Bears.

The last couple of weeks were a true rollercoaster for the Doosan Bears. The team’s place in the KBO postseason was under threat at some point, but a strong run was enough for the third seed in the playoffs after all.

The Bears have a strong offense that could punish every mistake by the opposition and they are expected to send one of their best pitchers from the start. Chris Flexen’s stats are impressive and he’s certainly a guy that could shut down the opposition.

LG’s offense is too inconsistent and the team’s starting pitcher is too raw, so I expect a win for the Bears in the opener. Flexen should be able to contain the opposition and his batters should build a good lead for the late innings.

The price of -115 for the Bears to cover the -1.5 handicap looks good and that’s my recommended betting pick for this game one of the series.
