Levante vs. Real Madrid – La Liga, October 4, 2020
Over the last few years, Levante and Real Madrid have played some thrilling games, and the Frogs even beat Los Blancos in two of their previous four encounters.
Last season, Levante outlasted Real Madrid 1-0 at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia, while the Frogs narrowly lost 3-2 in Madrid.
Levante opened the 2020-21 La Liga season with three straight outings on the road. The Frogs’ first home game will be quite a challenge, so here’s the best Levante vs. Real Madrid betting pick for Sunday, October 4, 2020.
Levante vs. Real Madrid Odds
|Levante to Win||+500|
|Real Madrid to Win||-200|
Los Blancos are firm favorites to win, but the bookies won’t be surprised if the Frogs find the net. Levante scored in seven straight encounters with Real Madrid, and that’s a huge feat.
The Frogs have a 5:6 goal difference through their first three games, failing to score once in the process, while Los Blancos kept their net intact in two of three La Liga outings this season.
Levante vs. Real Madrid Preview
Levante sits at the 13th spot of the La Liga standings with three points thanks to a 3-1 victory at Osasuna last weekend. The Frogs opened with a 4-2 defeat at Valencia, while they lost at Sevilla 1-0 this past Thursday.
That was some tough schedule and it won’t get easier for the Frogs. They were completely outplayed by Sevilla, allowing 16 shots while taking just three in a return.
The Frogs had some tough time against Valencia, too, despite breaking the deadlock in the first minute of the game. Levante took 19 shots in the opener and still suffered a heavy loss to their city rivals.
On the other side, Los Blancos won two straight games following a goalless draw at Real Sociedad in their La Liga opener. Real Madrid barely outlasted Betis 3-2 on the road last weekend and Valladolid 1-0 at home this past Wednesday.
Los Blancos overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit at Betis and scored just one second-half goal against the mediocre Valladolid team, so they haven’t impressed despite beating their rivals.
Zinedine Zidane will demand more from his players, for sure, but he also has some serious injury worries. Eden Hazard, Dani Carvajal, and Eder Militao are unavailable for Sunday’s clash, while Toni Kross is doubtful to play after missing the previous game due to a muscle injury.
Levante vs. Real Madrid Pick
Los Blancos haven’t been at their best so far, though it’s still early in the season. They are a way better team than Levante, so it’s fair to expect Real Madrid on the winning side.
The odds on Los Blancos are not tempting, but that’s what you get when they take on Levante. You can opt with the combo bet on Real Madrid to win and score two or more goals at -160, but I’m going to be slightly more adventurous.
The Frogs are coming home after finishing the previous season in Villarreal, as their home ground was under reconstruction. There will be a limited number of fans due to the coronavirus pandemic, but still, the Frogs will be fired up to put on a strong performance against the reigning champs.
I hope Levante will create some chances through counter-attacks and score at least once, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Los Blancos easily win at the end.
