Leicester City vs. Sheffield United – EPL, March 14, 2021
Leicester City’s form has been a little patchy over the last month or so but Brendan Rodgers’ side is still third in the league and looking forward to qualifying for the Champions League once again.
Things couldn’t be more different for Sheffield United. Chris Wilder seems resigned to being a Championship manager next season and cannot be expecting too much from this fixture on Sunday.
Leicester City vs. Sheffield United Odds
This looks like another one-sided game in the EPL, as BetOnline makes Leicester the odds on favorite to win at home against bottom of the table Sheffield United.
There doesn’t seem to be the same kind of fight from the Blades this season, so even the draw bet doesn’t really stand out here.
Leicester City vs. Sheffield United Match Preview
Leicester has had a terrible time with injuries recently and that has had a real impact on results. The Foxes exited European competition by surprisingly losing to Slavia Prague at home and had taken one point from games against Arsenal and Burnley before the weekend’s meeting with Brighton.
But a rejigged side was able to celebrate a late winner from Daniel Amartey that gave Leicester the points and even saw the club climb to second in the table before Manchester United’s derby win later in the weekend. There are still some big names absent through injury on Sunday, but the replacements should be able to step up once again to keep the European dream alive.
But last week’s home defeat to Southampton left the Blades 12 points from safety with just 10 games to play.
There is little real hope of a great escape now and the players themselves looked down and out once Southampton had taken the lead. For some reason there just hasn’t been the same kind of energy and confidence shown by Sheffield United this season as there was last year – and another defeat on Sunday will only make relegation seem even more likely.
Leicester City vs. Sheffield United Betting Pick
Leicester City to Win-196
Brendan Rodgers will be concerned that his best midfielders will be missing for this game on Sunday. But, without the distraction of a Europa League campaign, he can at least concentrate on making sure his side gets to the end of the season still in the top four. Three points from a tired Sheffield United should not be a problem and will help with that cause.
