Leicester City vs. Brighton and Hove Albion – EPL, December 13, 2020

Two teams battling at opposite ends of the EPL meet on Sunday, as Leicester looks to keep up the pressure on the top three by beating Brighton at the King Power Stadium.

Brighton has played well without earning many points recently but will be up against it to come away from the East Midlands with even a point.

Leicester City vs. Brighton and Hove Albion Odds

Leicester City to Win-103
The Draw+230
Brighton and Hove Albion to Win+265

I think BetOnline has too much faith in this Brighton team, as I would have the odds for an away win quite a bit larger than this. It is not as though the Seagulls don’t play some nice soccer, but I just can’t see them being able to handle the intricate play of Leicester as the home side goes for another win.

Leicester City vs. Brighton and Hove Albion Match Preview

Leicester surprisingly almost became only the second team this season to give Sheffield United any points last weekend. But the Foxes turned to the ever-reliable Jamie Vardy to come up with a last-minute winner that would have made the Sheffield Wednesday-supporting striker very happy indeed.

Allowing the Blades to get so close to a draw was surprising on Leicester’s part but I think it will be able to regroup during the week and come back stronger. Brendan Rodgers will be especially happy if Wilfred Ndidi doesn’t report any injuries after playing over an hour of the Europa League tie in the week. His comeback after a lengthy injury break could revitalize the team.

Brighton’s own midfielders have been steadily improving this season – and the surprisingly good form of the strikers means that there is a cause for optimism on the south coast. But there are still too many lost games to believe that the club will be doing anything apart from battling against relegation later in the season.

The good news is that Brighton is conceding fewer – and scoring more – than the majority of the clubs around it at the foot of the table. That doesn’t mean that it can necessarily escape the lower reaches. But it does help with its aim of top-flight survival this season.

Leicester City vs. Brighton and Hove Albion Betting Pick

  • Leicester City to Win

When Leicester really wants to turn it on, it is a match for just about anyone in the league. It has already thrashed Manchester City and Leeds this year to show what it is capable of. But then it did lose at home to Fulham. This week should see Brendan Rodgers’ side on top form and the three points should be staying with the Foxes.
