Leeds United vs. Southampton – EPL, February 23, 2021

Leeds and Southampton catch up a game in hand on Tuesday as they come together at Elland Road.

Leeds will be looking to get back to winning ways after two defeats, while Southampton has just ended a six-game losing streak and could do with a few points to rebuild some confidence.

Leeds United vs. Southampton Odds

Leeds United to Win+113
The Draw+245
Southampton to Win+215

Southampton has only picked up one point out of the last 21 on offer, so it shows what BetOnline thinks about the home side’s inconsistency that it only makes Leeds a slight favorite. The Saints do look like they mean business again, but the home win or draw bets look like providing the best value here.

Leeds United vs. Southampton Match Preview

A midweek game is perfect timing for Leeds as Marcelo Bielsa attempts to figure out how his side was unable to come away from Molineux without even a point on Friday. There were enough chances to beat Wolves but an unfortunate own goal just after the hour mark gave the home side the win.

Kalvin Phillips will, once again, miss this one but Bielsa has virtually the rest of his first choice starting eleven available and will be demanding a result to go with the effort that is always shown. He doesn’t seem to mind the number of goals conceded if Leeds ends up scoring more than its opponent.

Ralph Hasenhuttl will just be happy that his Southampton team was able to break an extended losing streak when it managed a draw with Chelsea on Saturday. Even though the Saints were at home, a point from a game against a side much improved because of its new manager should be welcomed.

Southampton played a very good waiting game against Chelsea and was almost rewarded with an unexpected victory near the end. The draw will do though – and hopefully that will begin to erase the memory of the nine-goal mauling it received at the hands of Manchester United at the start of the month.

Leeds United vs. Southampton Betting Pick

  • Leeds United to Win

Southampton has some very good players – as well as an intelligent manager – but the thrashing at Old Trafford could have derailed the whole season. It looks like that won’t happen now, but Leeds will be keen to get back on track and climb the table. So I think a home win is probably the most likely outcome here on Tuesday.
