Leeds United vs. Leicester City – EPL, November 2, 2020

Two sides that have started the season very brightly come together on Monday, as Leeds welcomes Leicester City to Elland Road.

Both had very good wins away from home last weekend and another victory on Monday would probably see the team that comes out on top climb into the Champions League spots.

Which team do I think that will be? Find out as we get into my Leeds United vs. Leicester City prediction and pick.

Although these two have started well, there is still a little inconsistency in both clubs’ performances so far.

The bookmakers have this priced fairly evenly, with Leicester as the slight favorite. Jamie Vardy is looking good once again, but I would expect the home side to have more chance of pulling off another win.

Leeds has shown that it is definitely at home in the Premier League after such a long wait to compete in the top flight again. There have probably been a few too many goals conceded for Marcelo Bielsa’s liking. But he always concentrates on the attacking aspect of the game more anyway, so the 12 goals in six games will more than make up for that.

Patrick Bamford scored three of those last week as Leeds swept aside Aston Villa in the second half of their encounter. He is just one player in the Leeds side that is answering questions about their ability to perform in the EPL – and he will look at the injuries at the back for Leicester and expect to have some more chances to add to his tally on Monday.

It says something that Leicester finds itself in fourth place in the league, when it has not really gotten into top gear yet. The return of Jamie Vardy makes a huge difference to this team – and it was the England striker who scored the winning goal away at Arsenal last weekend.

It is not as though Leicester completely relies on Vardy, but he does give the team something extra that is missed when he is absent. Brendan Rodgers will be without Timothy Castagne this weekend, so the defense will be even lighter. But he will be very pleased with the continuing progression of teenager Wesley Fofana, who has played in the last two games.

I’m expecting this to be an excellent way to finish off the weekend’s fixtures in the Premier League. Both clubs value attacking play as a way of getting results and this could be a real end-to-end game. But with the bookmakers playing down the chance of a Leeds victory, I think the best value bet is definitely the home win.
