Laslo Djere vs. Kevin Anderson Betting – French Open, September 29, 2020

| September 28, 2020 1:40 pm PDT

Most French Open 2020 matches scheduled for Tuesday in the men’s singles event appear to be fairly one-sided. The clash between Laslo Djere and Kevin Anderson looks like one of the exceptions. The Serbian player is expected to win, but his experienced opponent should not be underestimated.

I explore both players and their chances to progress to the second round of the 2020 Roland-Garros in this Laslo Djere vs. Kevin Anderson betting preview. The post includes the latest odds and lines, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

Laslo Djere Player Analysis

The return of tennis didn’t bring Laslo Djere too much success so far. He was knocked out in the opening rounds of the Cincinnati Masters and the US Open, before finding some form to reach the Austrian Open semifinal.

The Serbian decided against playing in more tournaments before the 2020 French Open, so he had around two weeks to prepare for the clay courts.

The question is if Djere can have a strong run in a Grand Slam tournament. His best achievement so far is the third round of the French Open 2019 and his only ATP title came on clay, so the red courts of Paris might a good place to try.

Djere lost his only match against Anderson so far, but it came on hard courts last year and his opponent needed two tiebreaks to prevail.

Kevin Anderson Player Analysis

Kevin Anderson might be out of his prime, but he’s not completely done playing good tennis yet. Just ask 2020 US Open finalists Alexander Zverev whose journey in New York could’ve ended in the opening round after the South African pushed him to the limit.

The veteran is a solid player that very rarely loses in the first round of Grand Slams. He has a good serve and a steady style that allows him to find winners from various parts of the court. Clay is not Anderson’s favorite surface, but he has reached the fourth round of the French Open in his previous two visits here.

I believe that Anderson is a dangerous opponent for Djere and I don’t see how any player could finish this match in three sets.

Laslo Djere vs. Kevin Anderson Prediction and Betting Pick

I expect to see at least four sets in the clash between Djere and Anderson which is why the over 39 games option is my pick for the match. The price of +100 is solid and four sets should be enough to cover the line.
