Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview – NFL, October 11, 2020

The Kansas City Chiefs opened the title-defending season with three consecutive wins, and they are hoping to keep the perfect start with another victory against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The visitors travel to the Arrowhead Stadium with a 2-2 record after losing the last two games, and they will be massive underdogs in this clash.

These AFC West rivals met two times last season, and the Chiefs won both encounters, scoring even 68 points and allowing just 19 in the process. Take a look at my Raiders vs. Chiefs betting prediction.

The Las Vegas Raiders started this season on a high note with a couple of wins over the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints but then lost two straight to the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills. They stayed close in the most recent duel with the Bills after the opening three quarters and trailed by only one point, 17-16, but the visitors scored a pair of touchdowns in quick succession early in the fourth to secure a 30-23 win. The Raiders did collect more total yards (383-336) but committed two turnovers opposite Buffalo’s zero.

Derek Carr completed 32 of his 44 pass attempts for 311 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Josh Jacobs had 15 carries for 48 yards, while tight end Darren Waller ended the game with 88 yards on nine receptions. On the defensive end, safety Erik Harris recorded nine total tackles (seven solos).

The Raiders are the 12th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 27.8 points per game, 13th in passing yards (261.5), 15th in rushing yards (115.3), while they have the 24th defense that allows 30.0 points per contest.

The Kansas City Chiefs displayed their most impressive performance of the season in a 34-20 road victory over the Baltimore Ravens in a clash of the last two MVPs – Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Mahomes dominated that tilt from the beginning, and the Chiefs were particularly terrifying in the second quarter when they scored 21 points. In the end, Kansas City ended the game with 517 total yards opposite Baltimore’s 228 and had three first downs more than the Ravens (29-16).

Mahomes completed 31 of 42 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns. He and Travis Kelce continued excellent cooperation as tight end contributed with 87 yards on six receptions, while rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire added 64 yards on the ground on 20 rushes. Defensive tackle Chris Jones led the defense with five total tackles (three solos) and two sacks.

The Chiefs are the 8th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 30.3 points per game, 5th in passing yards (292.3), 8th in rushing yards (141.0), while they have the 5th best defense that allows 20.0 points per contest.

Kansas City won nine of the previous ten H2H encounters and covered the -11.5 spread in each of the last three, while the Chiefs were victorious in the past seven meetings at Arrowhead Stadium. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are unstoppable at the moment, and I seriously doubt the poor Raiders’ defense can limit them on Sunday after Baltimore’s top D failed to do so last week. Kansas City’s defense is also better than Las Vegas’, so I can’t see the visitors covering the spread here. I am backing the Chiefs.
