Las Vegas Raiders vs. Atlanta Falcons – NFL, Week 12, 2020
The Las Vegas Raiders were in a good run of three consecutive wins, but they failed to beat the reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs for the second time this year and fell short at home. The Raiders dropped to a 6-4 record and are in 2nd place in the AFC West, but they are still alive in the playoff race.
The Atlanta Falcons couldn’t get the third straight victory as the New Orleans Saints topped them in a divisional battle. The Falcons are practically without chances of reaching the playoffs as they dropped to a 3-7 record and to the bottom of the NFC South. Check out my Raiders vs. Falcons betting prediction.

Raiders Left Empty-Handed in a Duel With the Chiefs
The Las Vegas Raiders nearly defeated the defending champions Kansas City Chiefs for the second time this season, but a late touchdown from Travis Kelce secured a 35-31 victory for the visitors. Las Vegas had a 17-14 lead at halftime and was up 31-28 with less than a minute to go, but Kansas City deserved to get a win. The Chiefs collected 460 yards opposite Las Vegas’ 364, while they had 11 first downs (36-25) more than Las Vegas.
Derek Carr completed 23 of 31 passes for 275 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Nelson Agholor (88 yards and a TD on eight catches) and Darren Waller (88 yards and a scored on seven receptions) proved to be Carr’s favorite targets, while Jason Witten caught his lone target and found the endzone. Josh Jacobs added 55 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. On defense, safety Johnathan Abram was rock-solid with ten tackles (seven solos).
The Raiders are the 8th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 28.6 points per game, 20th in passing yards (235.2), 8th in rushing yards (134.2), while they have the 26th defense that allows 27.6 points per contest.
Falcons Scored Nine Points in a Loss to the Saints
The Atlanta Falcons displayed the worst offensive performance of the season as they scored just nine points in a 24-9 road loss to the divisional rivals New Orleans Saints. All nine points came in the opening half thanks to kicker Younghoe Koo, who made three field-goal attempts. However, the Saints completely stopped the Falcons and Matt Ryan in the second 30 minutes and limited them to 248 total yards.
Matt Ryan completed 19 of 37 passes for 232 yards and two interceptions. Calvin Ridley led the team through the air with 90 yards on five receptions, Russell Gage had 58 yards on seven catches, while Julio Jones finished the game with just two receptions and 39 yards. Jones sustained a hamstring injury in the first half, but the Falcons are hoping it’s nothing serious.
The Falcons are the 16th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 25.2 points per game, 2nd in passing yards (280.6), 24th in rushing yards (101.3), while they have the 25th defense that allows 27.6 points per contest.
Raiders vs. Falcons Betting Pick
These teams are not playing each other often, so we had only four H2H duels in this century, including the latest one in 2016 – Atlanta won all four. I am expecting the Falcons to bounce back offensively against one of the weakest defenses in the NFL but considering they also have a weak defense, a lot of points is a realistic expectation in this game. Las Vegas scored 30+ points in each of the previous three games, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Atlanta surrender 30+ points on Sunday.
I am going with the Over.
