Top Korn Ferry Tour Championship Betting Picks for 2021
The Korn Ferry Tour Championship is headed to Victoria National Golf Club for the third consecutive year. Coinciding with this week’s event is the final opportunity for golfers to stamp their tickets to the PGA Tour. I’m here to help bettors pinpoint who’s best positioned to tame this Tom Fazio gem.
After scanning the betting sheets searching for value, here are my top Korn Ferry Tour Championship picks.
Two Dark Horse Picks at Victoria National
Tom Lewis emerged out of the oblivion to claim the 2019 KFT Championship at this venue. Last year at this golf course, Brandon Wu was the last man standing despite finishing 58th the week before in Columbus.
Here are two sleepers who could surprise in 2021. One of which shares the last name with the defending champion.
Bo Hoag (+7000)
Finishing 129th in the regular-season FedEx Cup standings theoretically makes Bo one of the “better players” in the field. Hoag strung together four red numbers last week at his old stomping grounds and will arrive in Indiana with plenty of positive vibes.
The Ohio State product posted five top-20s on the PGA Tour this season, including recording back-to-back top-16s in July.
Dylan Wu (+8000)
A winner at the Price Cutter Charity Championship in late July, Dylan Wu has already clinched a berth on the PGA Tour next year. Having said that, the Northwestern grad can bolster his status with another good showing in the KFT Finals.
Wu registered a T16 in Boise and a T27 last week in Columbus; he’s shot in the 60s in eight of his last nine competitive rounds. Priced at +7000 at most of the best places to bet on golf, head to BetUS to latch onto Dylan at +8000.
Best Bets at Korn Ferry Tour Championship
The Korn Ferry Tour Championship predictions above are perhaps a little bold. On the other hand, the following three KFT Championship picks are guys most people expect to be in contention on Sunday.
Taylor Moore (+3000)
Following a blazing mid-summer burst (5th-7th-1st-2nd) that secured Taylor’s PGA Tour status next season, the former Razorback golfer is back on his hog. One of two players (Stephen Jaeger) to post top-10s in each of the first two “playoff” events, Moore boasts an elite tee-to-green game that will be on full display at Victoria National.
- 5th in Total Driving
- 10th in GIR
- 6th in Scrambling
If Taylor can warm up his flat stick, a second victory could be imminent.
Taylor Pendrith (+3300)
There’s another Taylor who’s been tearing it up on the Korn Ferry Tour. The difference is this one obliterates the ball off the tee (3rd in driving distance at 323.2 yards). The common denominator is both Pendrith and Moore are on their way to the big stage.
Pendrith, 30, is yet to record a victory on the KFT. However, four runner-up finishes among a whopping 20 top-25s were enough to end the regular season 5th in the race for “The 25.”
David Lipsky (+5000)
Even a broken driver in the first round couldn’t stop David Lipsky from racking up birdies at the Scarlet Course. David finished 4th last week – good for his 7th top-10 on the KFT in the current campaign.
One of “The 25” who achieved PGA Tour status based on regular-season results, Lipsky returns to Newburgh in hopes of padding his status.
This former Northwestern Wildcat finished 6th at the 2020 KFT Tour Championship and has his eyes set on the big prize.
Between the five Korn Ferry Tour Championship betting picks endorsed on this page, I’m hoping I can at least be in for a sweat on Sunday. Of course, I’m assuming I’ll already be perspiring from soaking up the action at East Lake.
