Kiwoom Heroes vs. LG Twins Betting Preview – KBO, Friday, September 11, 2020

| September 10, 2020 9:37 am PDT

The LG Twins enjoyed a relatively comfortable opening game against the Heroes on Thursday thanks to the good work of Casey Kelly. He contained the opponent for most of the game and that made it easy for the offense to patiently punish Kiwoom.

The second game of the series shouldn’t be that easy, though, and I share my expectation in this Kiwoom Heroes vs. LG Twins betting preview. The post features the latest odds and lines, analysis of the projected starting pitchers, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

Heroes vs. Twins Odds

Kiwoom Heroes to win+100
LG Twins to win-130
Kiwoom Heroes (+1.5)-200
LG Twins (-1.5)+160
Over 9-120
Under 9-115

The Kiwoom Heroes vs. LG Twins odds above show that the best sports betting sites view the Twins as the slight favorite in the second game as well. I believe it should be the other way around, as you can see from my analysis below.

Kiwoom Heroes Stats and Form

I expected a tough opener for the Heroes yesterday and while I didn’t think it would be that bad, the 6-1 defeat was somewhat reasonable. The team had to once again rely on a mediocre starting pitcher and you can’t expect from the offense to bail you out every time, especially against a team like the Twins.

The good news is that the Heroes are expected to start one of their better pitchers for the second game on the series on Friday. With the exception of a tough clash against KT Wiz Suwon early in September, Jake Brigham has been very good in the past month or so.

He has a 3.07 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP across the last thirty days, so Kiwoom’s offense will finally receive enough support.

LG Twins Team Stats and Form

The decision to give Casey Kelly a longer rest and unleash him against one of the main opponents for the KBO top spot paid off for the Twins. The pitcher was excellent in the opener and one of the main reasons behind LG’s victory.

The problem is that the Twins won’t have the same luxury on Friday. Tyler Wilson should get the nod and he’s been abysmal in August and September so far. The otherwise decent pitcher’s stats show an ERA of over 5 in the last month or so.

He often gets the nod against strong offensive teams which certainly deflates his numbers, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Heroes will have opportunities to score. The burden will be on LG’s offense on Friday which could a problem considering the opposition’s starting pitcher.

Heroes vs. Twins Prediction and Pick

I believe that the Kiwoom Heroes have a good chance to win the second clash of the series and the price of +100 is way too high. The team has the better pitcher and the offense has been consistent recently. I know that the Twins are a formidable foe, but I still prefer to back the Heroes.
