KIA Tigers vs. Samsung Lions Betting Preview – KBO, Friday, September 18, 2020
The Samsung Lions seem unable to find a middle ground this season. They either show up and play like one of the best baseball teams in South Korea or completely fail to deliver and look like one of the worst.
The latter has happened more often which explains the 8th position in the table and the opener against KIA was an excellent example of Samsung’s woes. It’s interesting to see if the side can bounce back on Friday.
I share my expectations in this KIA Tigers vs. Samsung Lions betting preview that also includes the latest odds, my prediction, and a free betting pick.

KIA Tigers Analysis and News
The Tigers are just a win and a half behind the vital fifth place in the KBO standings that would be enough for a spot in the postseason. The team could even climb further up the table, so beating struggling opponents like the Lions is crucial for KIA’s ambitions.
The opening day went well for the Tigers who started slowly but then completely suffocated the opposition. The offense struck hard in the fourth inning to basically end the game with seven runs and it was easy after that.
The team should enter the second clash full of confidence and there’s another advantage. Drew Gagnon is next in the rotation and he already has nine victories as a starter in 2020. His form has been excellent recently, so you could easily expect six or seven strong innings by the American.
That should provide more than enough breathing room for the offense and I expect a comfortable game for the Tigers.
Samsung Lions Analysis and News
I don’t know what to say about the Lions anymore. Just when you think that the team has found some rhythm and might produce a consistent run, something like game one of the series happens and it’s all back to square one.
I’m not sure where the problem lies exactly, but Samsung has underperformed far too often this year. The recent games of the expected starter Ben Lively bring some hope, but he certainly needs help from the offense.
The Lions need to step up and put some pressure on the opposition or the game might have the same outcome as the opener.
Tigers vs. Lions Prediction and Pick
I believe that the Samsung Lions will be on the ropes for most of game two. The Tigers should be able to contain the opposition for most of the clash and that should be enough for a victory. The price of -130 is enough for me to back them.
