Keeneland Race Course Picks – Thursday, October 15, 2020

Keeneland Race Course headlines a Grade III stakes race—the Sycamore Stakes—among its nine-race schedule for today of maiden, claiming, and allowance races.
Before we get to my predictions, remember that while I cover today’s richest races at Keeneland, you can always find their full slate at one of our top horse race betting sites.
Now, read on for my Keeneland Race Course picks and tips for Thursday’s races.
Picks for Keeneland Race Course Race 6
This is an allowance race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs on turf for a purse of $73,000.
I like the 4/1 morning line favorite in this race—Dance Rhythms, with top jockey Rafael Bejarano in the irons. This five-year-old mare finished in the money for 16 of her 31 career starts, winning eight of them, and her record for this year is even better: She moneyed four of her six starts, winning two.
At 15/1, I think Mom’s Red Lipstick—particularly with Florent Geroux aboard—is a value show bet. This three-year-old filly moneyed four of her five career starts, winning three. I’m not so sure she isn’t worth an across-the-board here, but I’m only recommending the show ticket.
- Win: Dance Rhythms 4/1
- Show: Mom’s Red Lipstick 15/1
Pick for Keeneland Race Course Race 7
This is an allowance race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of 1-3/16 miles for a purse of $71,000.
I’m going with the fourth-favored (5/1) Glory Road, with Tyler Gaffalione aboard. This three-year-old gelding moneyed two of his three career starts, winning one.
None of the three longer-odds entries in this race look like they will finish in the money, so save yours for next time.
- Win: Glory Road 5/1
Picks for Keeneland Race Course Race 8 – Sycamore Stakes
This is the Sycamore Stakes (Grade III), a race for three-year-olds and upward running a distance of 1-1/2 miles on turf for a purse of $150,000.
I like one of the 10/1 underdogs—North Dakota, with Corey Lanerie in the irons—for the win. This four-year-old colt moneyed six of his ten career starts, winning three of them.
And at 20/1, I really like Morning Stride for a show ticket. This five-year-old moneyed 16 of his 27 career starts, winning seven of them, but his 2020 record is even more impressive: Nine money finishes in ten starts, three of those wins. You might even consider him for an across-the-board here.
- Win: North Dakota 10/1
- Show: Morning Stride 20/1
