KBO Predictions and Analysis – Tuesday, September 21 (2021)
The new week of Korean baseball starts on Tuesday, and the games will begin several hours earlier than usual this time around. Make sure to place your KBO wagers on time if you want to target the competition.
KT Wiz Suwon is comfortably ahead of the other teams, but the standings are very tight when it comes to the last playoff sports. Five teams are still fighting for them, so we should see many exciting games.
I cover all fixtures on Monday in my KBO predictions for September 21. Here’s a complete list of them.
- KT Wiz Suwon vs. Kia Tigers
- LG Twins vs. Hanwha Eagles
- NC Dinos vs. Doosan Bears
- Samsung Lions vs. Lotte Giants
- Kiwoom Heroes vs. SSG Landers
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Kia Tigers
The best team in the country faces one of the two sides that have nothing to play for by the end of the regular season.
It’s hard to see how the Tigers can take something from KT Wiz Suwon in the upcoming couple of games.
The league leaders will meet the last-placed Hanwha Eagles after Kia, so the next four rounds represent an excellent opportunity for Suwon to build an even bigger lead at the top of the standings.
William Cuevas will pitch for KT Wiz on Tuesday, and he was shaky in his last two games. They were both against much stronger offenses, though, and the Tigers are sending a pitcher with a 7.33 ERA after five fixtures.
Backing KT Wiz Suwon is the smart choice in this one, and I expect an easy victory for the favorites.
LG Twins to Beat Hanwha Eagles
The LG Twins have been far from their best in the last two weeks, and they lost the second place in the table as a result. The team will have a great opportunity to bounce back against the Hanwha Eagles at the start of this week.
Casey Kelly is expected to start on Tuesday, and he has a 10-5 record on excellent stats this season. The Eagles will use a decent pitcher too, but they have the weaker bullpen.
A few runs should be enough, and LG’s offense certainly can deliver. That’s why I prefer the Twins in my KBO predictions for Tuesday.
Doosan Bears to Beat NC Dinos
The NC Dinos looked stronger last week but ended on a low after losing twice against KT Wiz Suwon. The reigning champions simply can’t rely on their defense, which could be a big problem against the Doosan Bears.
NC’s projected starter Shin Min-hyeok has been fine in certain games and way too leaky in others. He lost his only encounter against the Bears so far, and Doosan has an 8-4 lead in the H2H record for 2021.
Two of the wins came with Choi Won-joon starting, and the pitcher is back for this one. He’s been great this season, and I believe he can lead his team to another win on Tuesday.
Lotte Giants to Beat Samsung Lions
I believe this might be one of the toughest games to predict in the next round. The Lions have been better this season as a whole, but the head-to-head record between these two is currently tied.
On top of that, the Giants have the better starting pitcher in Enderson Franco. The Venezuelan has been worse than expected this season, but I would still take him over Choi Chae-heung. Samsung’s starter has been mostly unreliable.
Kiwoom Heroes to Beat SSG Landers
Two of the most inconsistent squads in the KBO are about to meet on Tuesday too.
These are the two teams with the worst KBO records in the past ten games.
The Landers won only one clash, losing six and drawing the other three. The Heroes have been a bit better, winning three times, losing five, and drawing too.
The bad results mean that both sides are out of the playoff sports right now, and a win on Tuesday could be vital for getting back on the right track.
I’m picking the Heroes in my KBO predictions because they have the stronger starting pitcher, as simple as that. Jeong Chan-heon has a 7-3 record so far in 2021 and excellent individual stats. He could make a difference on Tuesday, while the Landers are sending Sam Gaviglio, who’s been abysmal ever since arriving in South Korean baseball.
