KBO Predictions and Analysis – Thursday, October 14

I got three of my four KBO predictions right yesterday, and the last one was close too. The same teams meet in the next round, so I hope for more success on Thursday, October 14.

There are four games on the schedule, and the weather reports suggest that all of them should proceed as planned. Here’s a full list of them before we move on to my expectations.

KT Wiz Suwon lost twice in a row against the Bears now, and Doosan’s defense has been impressive. The team has peaked in October, and it’s interesting to see if that would be enough to grab a higher position for the playoffs.

The Bears will be confident in their chances for the next clash too. Choi Won-joon is expected to start, and he has a 12-2 record on a 2.85 ERA in 2021. The guy already won twice in October, and he’s among the most reliable pitchers in the entire league.

So Hyeong-jun has been shaky this year, and the Bears have all the means to punish him.

Picking Doosan in my KBO predictions for October 14 is the sensible choice once again.

The Twins are drawing way too many games at the moment, and they need to find more wins in order to challenge the teams above them in the standings.

I believe LG’s chances on Thursday are pretty good, mostly thanks to Casey Kelly. The pitcher has been strong for most of the season, and he can certainly keep the Giants quiet.

I don’t think that Park Se-woong can do the same with the Twins, and Lotte’s bullpen is weaker as well. It won’t be a beatdown, but I believe that LG should be able to get the job done.

Just when the NC Dinos found their rhythm, they had to face the Kiwoom Heroes and lost twice. The 4-11 H2H record shows how much the champions hate this opponent.

At this point, I believe that the Heroes have a mental edge as well. They just feel comfortable against the Dinos, and that shows in their performance on the pitch.

I expect decent performances and a relatively close game, but I feel obliged to back the Kiwoom Heroes in my KBO predictions for October 14 after what I saw in the previous two rounds.

The Samsung Lions beat the same opponent twice this week already, without performing nowhere near their best. The team did just enough so far, and I think we might see a similar picture on Thursday.

Won Tae-in is about to start for the favorite, and he’s one of Samsung’s top pitchers. The guy has a solid record and two wins against the Tigers already.

Kia’s struggling offense won’t find much joy against him, and even if Daniel Mengden performs well, Samsung’s batters are way too strong. They should find enough opportunities to score and secure the victory.
