KBO Predictions and Analysis – Saturday, September 11 (2021)
The KBO continues on Saturday, and the projected lineups for the upcoming round are already up. I use the information and my own thoughts to deliver my KBO predictions for September 11.
My main goal is to help those of you who are looking to bet on South Korean baseball. Here’s a full list of all fixtures scheduled for the next round.
- LG Twins vs. Doosan Bears
- NC Dinos vs. Kia Tigers
- SSG Landers vs. KT Wiz Suwon
- Samsung Lions vs. Hanwha Eagles
- Kiwoom Heroes vs. Lotte Giants
LG Twins to Beat Doosan Bears
The Doosan Bears just beat the NC Dinos twice in a row, and their offense looked unstoppable in both games. The problem is that the reigning champions started some of their shaky pitchers, and their bullpen is not particularly impressive.
The Twins have a much stronger defense, and Doosan’s batters won’t score with such ease. Kim Yun-sik is next in LG’s rotation. He’s not the most reliable pitcher of the squad by any means, but he’s still decent, and this is the team with the best bullpen.
On top of that, the Bears are expected to start a pitcher with six defeats from seven games so far in the KBO.
The Twins should have the upper hand in Saturday’s clash, and I prefer backing them in my KBO predictions for September 11.
NC Dinos to Beat Kia Tigers
After losing three straight, the NC Dinos once again find themselves outside of the playoff spots. The team desperately needs to bounce back in the upcoming round.
The Dinos are expected to start Lee Jae-hak, who has been far from convincing, but he is about to face the worst offense in the league.
Kia’s pitcher looks slightly better, but he started only one game this season, and it’s hard to expect much against a strong offensive team like the Dinos.
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat SSG Landers
KT Wiz Suwon is without a win in three games in a row, but I think that the KBO leaders are about to get a victory on Saturday.
They love playing the Landers and have an 8-2 record against this opponent in the current campaign. On top of that, the team news heavily favors KT Wiz.
Bae Je-seong is one of Suwon’s top pitchers with 8 wins already and solid stats, while the Landers are forced to send Kim Keon-woo because they have too many injuries. The teenager was demolished in his only start so far, and I don’t think he can handle the best team in the country.
Samsung Lions to Beat Hanwha Eagles
If you are looking for a one-sided clash, I think this one might be it. The Samsung Lions have been much better than the Eagles as a whole, and they are leading the H2H record in 2021 by 8-3.
The Lions should have a lot of fun against Kim Ki-joong, who they already beat twice this season. On the other end, it’s Baek Jung-hyun’s turn to pitch.
The veteran has an 11-4 record in 2021, and he’s having one of the best seasons of his career. Another victory for him and his team on Saturday looks like the most likely outcome.
Kiwoom Heroes to Beat Lotte Giants
I assume that most people will agree with my prediction here, but this clash should be really tough to call.
Even if we ignore Kiwoom’s unpredictable nature, it’s almost impossible to know what the starting pitchers would do.
Both Choi Won-tae and Dan Straily have been wildly inconsistent this season. They both had excellent games and complete meltdowns.
The upcoming fixture should be very chaotic, and that usually suits the Heroes better. And yet, they have a negative record against the Giants in 2021, so be careful with this one.
