KBO Predictions and Analysis – Saturday, October 9, 2021

We’re entering the part of the KBO regular season that is focused on postponed matches. That’s why the schedule in South Korean baseball will be slightly unusual in the next few weeks.

We have only three games in the next round, and I cover them all in my KBO predictions for Saturday, October 9. Here are all fixtures on the schedule.

The only two teams in the KBO that have no chance of progressing to the post-season face each other on Saturday. Both the Tigers and the Eagles have been hard to predict recently, beating some of the much stronger opponents in the league.

Kia has been more consistent over the past few weeks, and the team has a much better head-to-head record in 2021. The Tigers have 7 wins and only 2 defeats against Hanwha in this campaign, and they certainly know how to handle this particular opponent.

The Tigers would likely struggle themselves against Ryan Carpenter, who has a respectable 3.92 ERA despite his eleven defeats. In most cases, the offense let him down, and that’s exactly what I expect on Saturday.

It should be close for most of the game, and once the starters are done, the Tigers should be able to punish Hanwha’s abysmal bullpen. That’s why I prefer backing Kia in my KBO predictions for October 9.

The top two teams in South Korean baseball are about to meet on Saturday, and this clash could be vital for the playoffs. KT Wiz Suwon currently has a decent lead in the standings, and another win would probably break the Twins mentally.

The league leaders are in an excellent position to achieve it thanks to their huge advantage when it comes to the starting pitchers. Suwon’s Ko Young-pyo has been a powerhouse this season, winning 11 of his 15 starts.

The batter will face the young Lim Jun-hyeng, who has barely featured this season. I’m not sure that a player that raw can stop Suwon right now, and I expect a win for the top team in the KBO on Saturday.

When you have two teams that are desperately trying to qualify for the postseason, anything is possible. The two sides are still close enough to the last spot in the playoffs, but a defeat on Saturday could prove to be fatal for their ambitions.

SSG’s Jo Yeong-u has a 6.35 ERA in 2021, and you can’t really on him too much. And yet, he was awesome in his only game against the Giants so far.

Lotte’s starter is yet to register a good performance in the league. Every single time he played more than an inning, his team was in trouble.

This one could be wild, and I believe that the Landers are slightly better equipped for a game of this nature.
