KBO Predictions for Tuesday, August 10 (2021)

The leading South Korean baseball league is back after a long pause for the Tokyo Olympic Games. The teams had enough time to rest and regroup, so it’s interesting to see how they perform on Tuesday.

I share my KBO predictions for August 10 below, covering all fixtures on the schedule. I don’t recommend placing big wagers if you intend to bet on the KBO before you watch at least a few rounds to see where each team is right now.

With that in mind, here’s a full list of fixtures I cover in my KBO predictions for this Tuesday.

I’m sure that the Kia Tigers were disappointed with the long break. The team just won six in a row and was flying before the KBO was put on hold.

The good news is that the squad has an excellent opportunity to register a win right away. The Tigers are about to face the last-placed Hanwha Eagles.

Kia has five wins from six games against the same opponent so far in 2021. The pitchers for Tuesday’s clash are comparable, but the better form and head-to-head record give me more reasons to back the Tigers in my KBO predictions for August 10.

Kiwoom was the most inconsistent team in South Korea, and there’s little reason to suggest something will change dramatically.

In this particular game, that could work in the side’s favor. The Heroes enter the clash against KT Wiz Suwon as the underdogs, but they will have the luxury to start Eric Jokisch. The American is one of the best pitchers in the entire league and already has nine wins on a 2.58 ERA.

He can keep any opponent quiet, and the same can be said about Bae Je-Seong, who’s expected to get the nod for the KBO leaders.

And yet, Jokisch is slightly better, which is why I prefer picking the Kiwoom Heroes.

The NC Dinos have been the most disappointing KBO team in 2021 and only sit fifth in the table.

On the bright side, the Dinos are going to face the struggling Giants next. Drew Rucinski can keep the opposition quiet, and Lotte’s defense has been abysmal this season.

Even if Dan Straily has a good performance, the bullpen will struggle to contain NC’s strong offense. The Dinos should get the job done, and I prefer them on Tuesday.

I think this might be the toughest game to predict on August 10. Both sides had their problems before the break, so they were happy to sit out for a while.

The H2H record doesn’t favor any of the teams too much, but Lions should have the upper hand when it comes to the starting pitchers.

Samsung’s new signing Mike Montgomery is about to make his debut, and the veteran MLS pitcher should be a strong addition to the squad.

And yet, we’ve seen new guys struggle before. At the same time, I don’t really trust Doosan’s starter either. Lee Young-Ha has four defeats in five starts up to this point, and the Samsung Lions have all the weapons required to punish him.

Another tough one based on league positions and starting news. The SSG Landers were hit by plenty of injuries right before the break, and they lost seven of their last ten as a result.

And yet, the team still has enough time to make up for that, and the gap to the top is not that big. Beating the Twins would certainly help.

Wilmer Font is the guy who will have to stop the Twins, and Casey Kelly will have to do the same with the Landers.

I expect a decent performance by both pitchers, and the Twins usually struggle unless they have a much stronger starter. On top of that, the Landers have a 6-3 record against LG so far this season which is enough to back them on Tuesday.
