KBO Predictions (Round 98) – Wednesday, August 26, 2020

| August 25, 2020 6:56 am PDT

The past couple of rounds in the KBO brought us plenty of runs and the trend continued on Tuesday. We saw many entertaining games in which both sides displayed strength on the offensive end.

I share my expectations on the next round of games in my KBO predictions for Wednesday. The post includes quick analysis of every fixture, but no odds or recommended picks because the lines of the top baseball sites are not yet up when I’m writing this piece.

They could be available when you’re reading, so feel free to check our recommended KBO betting sites.

And here’s a list of the fixtures covered in my KBO predictions post for Wednesday.

  • Hanwha Eagles vs. NC Dinos
  • KIA Tigers vs. Doosan Bears
  • LG Twins vs. Samsung Lions
  • SK Wyverns vs. Lotte Giants
  • Kiwoom Heroes vs. KT Wiz Suwon

NC Dinos to Beat Hanwha Eagles

The Dinos sent one of their weaker starting pitchers in the opening game against the Eagles and still managed to win rather comfortably. Their explosive offense was more than enough and brought eleven runs over the course of the clash.

That put an end to the winning streak of the Eagles, but let’s face it, we knew this was coming. The team has been struggling all season long, so losing against the best side in the country is hardly a shocker.

I expect another victory for the NC Dinos on Wednesday, as the team is in a tough battle for the top spot in the standings and a better position for the KBO playoffs.

Doosan Bears to Beat KIA Tigers

The opening clash between the Bears and the Tigers saw plenty of twists and turns, before the reigning KBO champions finally won. Both sides struggled to limit the opponent’s offense, but it should be different on Wednesday.

The starting pitchers are much better and that’s especially true for the Bears who are sending Raul Alcantara out there. He has an ERA of 2.90 and has led the team to a record of 10-1 as a starter. I feel obliged to respect that and go for Doosan in my KBO predictions for Wednesday.

LG Twins to Beat Samsung Lions

I expected better from the LG Twins in the opening game, but the Samsung Lions kept it tight and won by 4-3. It was a clash of few opportunities that could’ve gone either way and I believe that the Twins can bounce back on Wednesday.

You wouldn’t expect too many games on such a level in the pitching department by the Lions. They have been inconsistent so far in the season, so the Twins should have more opportunities to score runs in game two.

That’s enough of a reason to back them in my KBO predictions for Wednesday.

Lotte Giants to Beat SK Wyverns

The Wyverns and the Giants had a wild game one that saw 18 runs, but SK’s offense eventually prevailed. Judging by the expected starting pitchers in the second encounter, we’re going to witness more of the same on Wednesday.

And yet, the Giants are sending at least a somewhat reliable starter in Se Woong Park, while the Wyverns will have to depend on Seung Geon Baek who has an era of 7.71 and four losses as a starter so far.

That’s enough for me to back Lotte for the second game, but it could be wild once again.

Kiwoom Heroes to Beat KT Wiz Suwon

The Heroes kept the pressure on the NC Dinos with a strong performance in the opener against KT Wiz. Kiwoom limited the opponent to only five hits and a single run throughout the game which was more than enough to secure a 4-1 victory.

I believe that the Heroes can be even better than that, so I feel obliged to back them in the second clash of the series as well. They are simply the stronger team right now and every win matters, so there’s no reason to expect a drop in Kiwoom’s performance.
