KBO Predictions for Round 146 – Tuesday, October 20, 2020

The clock is ticking and the standings in the best South Korea baseball league are tight less than two weeks before the end of the regular season. The difference between the second and the fifth place is only 1.5 wins, so there are four teams that can change their fortunes.

I expect plenty of close games by the end of the month, starting from this week. I share my KBO predictions for the opening round of games on Tuesday and I also include my reasoning. There are no odds or betting picks added because the top baseball sites are yet to release their odds.

And here are all games covered in my KBO predictions for Tuesday. As you can see, there are only four of them instead of the usual five. That’s because we entered a stage in which the league features postponed fixtures from the season so far.

I’ve been impressed by the LG Twins that have found some form in October and climbed the KBO rankings. The team now sits in second place after winning seven of the last ten games in the league and has plenty of momentum.

The only defeats over that period came in games where the offense failed to show up. That’s the only notable weakness right bow, but it happens rarely.

That’s why I like LG’s chances against KT Wiz on Tuesday. The side from Suwon has been inconsistent lately and has allowed too many runs, so the Twins should have enough opportunities to score too.

Both sides won’t be at their best for the upcoming match for different reasons. The NC Dinos have a solid lead at the top of the KBO standings, so they are mostly looking at the playoffs nowadays. That’s the reason the team won only three of the last ten games.

The Tigers aren’t motivated either, but that’s because they are out of the postseason and that has affected the side’s morale.

It’s hard to trust any team under such circumstances, but I still prefer to back the Dinos in my KBO predictions for Tuesday. They are the stronger side and they still need a couple of wins to secure the first place on paper.

Everything I said about the Tigers applies to the Giants too. The team doesn’t have a realistic chance to catch the group ahead, so Lotte’s players haven’t been at their best recently. That’s great news for the Doosan Bears who are chasing a higher seed for the playoffs.

The reigning champions have been solid in October and their offense has looked unstoppable at times. That’s enough for me to back the Bears in Tuesday’s clash.

These two teams met last week and the Wyverns looked much better. They won two out of three games and the last clash was really close. For some reason, the Lions struggle badly against that particular opponent.

The team’s offense is nowhere to be seen and the pitchers allow too many runs. I believe that the upcoming clash won’t be too different. The Wyverns simply have Samsung’s number, so another win in their favor makes a lot of sense.
