KBO Predictions for Round 141 – Wednesday, October 14, 2020

| October 13, 2020 6:59 am PDT

This week started with some curious results in the leading South Korea baseball league and it’s time for another round of fixtures on Wednesday, October 14.

I share my KBO predictions with reasoning on all games. The post doesn’t include odds or betting picks because the lines of the leading baseball sites are yet to be released.

And here’s a complete list of the games that are part of my KBO predictions for Wednesday.

  • Hanwha Eagles vs. Doosan Bears
  • KIA Tigers vs. NC Dinos
  • LG Twins vs. Lotte Giants
  • SK Wyverns vs. Samsung Lions
  • Kiwoom Heroes vs. KT Wiz Suwon

Doosan Bears to Beat Hanwha Eagles

The opening game between the Bears and the Eagles was easy for the reigning champions, but they started one of the best pitchers in the league. They won’t have the same luxury on Wednesday and both sides are sending a struggling starter for game two of the series.

I believe this one will be much closer than the opener and it could go either way. And yet, the Bears need the victory more and they are the better team in general, so I prefer to trust them.

If you decide to follow this one with a wager, be careful to only take good odds because the Eagles already beat the same opponent multiple times recently.

NC Dinos to Beat KIA Tigers

I’m not sure what happened with the Dinos in the past week or so, but they look like a shadow of themselves. Maybe the league leaders built a large advantage at the top of the KBO table too early and that made them complacent.

I don’t know for sure what the reason behind the poor performance has been, but they need to bounce back fast or the top seed for the playoffs might be in jeopardy.

The good news for the Dinos is that the team has the advantage when it comes to the starting pitchers in the second clash versus the Tigers which is enough for me to back NC in my KBO predictions for Wednesday.

LG Twins to Beat Lotte Giants

The opening clash between the Twins and the Giants was over before it started. LG conceded eight runs in the first inning and never recovered by the end of the game. That’s what could happen when you start one of your worst pitchers.

The Twins should be sending a much better player on Wednesday and they have been excellent recently, so I expect them to bounce back and win the second game. The opener was a freak result and I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Samsung Lions to Beat SK Wyverns

The Samsung Lions continued the tradition to perform below the expectations against the worst teams in the country by losing the series opener against the Wyverns on Tuesday. The game was close before the bullpens entered the field and SK took full advantage of the many errors by the opposition.

The second game should be different because the Lions are projected to use one of their top pitchers, while the Wyverns are sending a guy with pretty bad stats. It should be a comfortable victory for Samsung, but I wouldn’t trust the team too much.

KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Kiwoom Heroes

The Kiwoom Heroes had an early lead against KT Wiz, but the bullpen failed to protect it and Suwon scored several late runs to win game one of the series. The team is sending the better pitcher on the field on Wednesday and the offense is feeling it right now.

That puts the Heroes in a tough spot and I’m not sure they can do something about it. The opponent has been stronger recently and Kiwoom’s batters have been far from their best. Unless they turn it around, game two of the series should go in favor of KT Wiz again.
