KBO Predictions for Round 139 – Tuesday, October 13, 2020

Sunday brought plenty of entertaining KBO games and every team scored at least three runs. They will have the chance to rest and regroup on Monday before returning for another round of South Korea baseball on Tuesday.

I share my thoughts and KBO predictions in this post but there are no odds or picks here because the lines of the leading baseball bookmakers online haven’t been released yet.

Here are all games covered in my KBO predictions for Tuesday.

The Hanwha Eagles have been unusually dangerous recently and they found plenty of success against the Bears in their previous series. I would normally expect another tough match for the reigning champions, but a quick look at the starting pitcher changes all.

Raul Alcantara should get the nod and he has 16 wins already this season, on excellent efficiency. With him as a starter, the Bears are almost unbeatable and I don’t think that the last-placed team in the KBO can do much on Tuesday.

The KBO leaders NC Dinos took the gas off the pedal last week and allowed the gap to the second spot to shrink to five wins. It’s still a steady advantage at this point of the season, but the Dinos must be careful.

They have a good chance of winning some games in the upcoming series against the Tigers. KIA’s last ten games include eight defeats and the team has been abysmal lately.

On top of that, the NC Dinos are expected to start a better pitcher which gives me enough reasons to back them in my KBO predictions for Tuesday.

The clash is probably the hardest to predict on Tuesday. The LG Twins have won six in a row and look like the best team in the KBO right now. And yet, they are about to face one of the top pitchers Dan Straily.

The American has been excellent in 2020, while the Twins might be forced to use a reliever. That’s enough for me to back the Giants, but if LG’s offense shows up big time, the Twins can certainly win this game as well.

Both sides are out of the playoffs, so there isn’t much to play for by the end of the KBO season. The Lions have been better than the Wyverns, but that’s not too hard to achieve. You normally don’t know what to expect from Samsung, but I believe a win here makes more sense.

The team has a stronger offense and is expected to start a decent pitcher, while the Wyverns are sending a guy with 13 defeats. I’m not too confident in my prediction, but I still believe that the Lions should have the upper hand.

The difference between the Heroes and KT Wiz in the standings is only one victory, so the upcoming series might be crucial for the starting position in the KBA playoffs. I would normally expect a close opener, but the difference in the stats of the starting pitchers is just too big.

The Heroes will use one of their best players in this position, while the opponent’s projected pick is yet to register a victory in the league. Under such circumstances, I feel obliged to go for the Heroes.
