KBO Predictions for Round 135 – Thursday, October 8, 2020
The leading South Korea baseball league continues on Thursday with another five games. I share my KBO predictions and analysis of all of them in this post. It doesn’t include odds or betting picks because the top baseball sportsbooks are yet to release their lines.
Here is a list of all fixtures covered by my KBO predictions for Thursday, October 8.
- Hanwha Eagles vs. KIA Tigers
- KT Wiz Suwon vs. Lotte Giants
- NC Dinos vs. Kiwoom Heroes
- Doosan Bears vs. SK Wyverns
- Samsung Lions vs. LG Twins
Hanwha Eagles to Beat KIA Tigers
The Tigers and the Eagles traded blows on Wednesday, with KIA winning the early game of the day and Hanwha getting the second clash. This was hardly ideal for the Tigers who are now way behind the KBO playoffs spots.
I don’t think it will get any better for them, based on the projected starting pitchers for game four of the series. A guy with a 9.49 should get the nod for KIA, while the opponent is sending one its best players in that position.
Hanwha’s offense is also stronger right now, so another victory in favor of the Eagles is the outcome that makes the most sense on Thursday.
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Lotte Giants
The Lotte Giants entered the second clash of the series in fine form and quickly built a 6-2 lead over KT Wiz Suwon. The opponent reacted with a strong run to turn it around and stun the Giants. They never managed to recover and Suwon collected a 9-6 victory.
That should shift the momentum of the series and KT Wiz is also expected to start the better pitcher for the final game on Thursday. That should be too much to overcome for the Giants, so another defeat is on the cards.
NC Dinos to Beat Kiwoom Heroes
I expected an easy victory for the Dinos in game two of the series, but the offense of the league leaders had a bad day in the office and that almost cost them. The strong pitching saved the clash and NC did win by 4-3 at the end.
I believe that the Dinos can overcome the opponent in the next clash as well. They once again have the better starting pitcher and the Heroes are simply not at their best right now. Even when the defense works well, the batters can’t deliver enough runs.
That’s why I prefer backing the Dinos in my KBO predictions for Thursday.
Doosan Bears to Beat SK Wyverns
Just when I thought that the Doosan Bears are back on track, the reigning champions lost against the SK Wyverns after an early collapse. Fortunately for them, many of their main rivals failed to deliver on Wednesday as well.
The other reason to stay optimistic is the expected start of Raul Alcantara for the last game of the series on Thursday. He’s been one of the best pitchers in the entire league and I expect him to lead the Bears to another victory against a struggling opponent such as the Wyverns.
Samsung Lions to Beat LG Twins
The Samsung Lions put the Twins under a lot of pressure in the second clash of the series, but their bullpen surrendered two late runs which were enough for LG to close the game.
I expect another close one on Thursday because both sides will be using reliable pitchers with an ERA of under 4.00. I don’t think there will be many runs as a result and the game could go either way. And yet, I believe that Samsung’s offense can deliver this time around.
