KBO Predictions for Round 133 – Tuesday, October 6, 2020

There are only two weeks left until the end of the regular season of the best South Korea baseball league. With the exception of the NC Dinos who have a solid lead on the top, the rest of the spots for the playoffs look uncertain.

The margins are slim and several teams have the chance to change their fortunes. This week starts with the traditional day off on Monday before everybody returns on Tuesday. I share my KBO predictions and analysis for all games on October 6.

The post doesn’t include odds and betting picks because the lines of the leading baseball betting sites haven’t been released yet.

Here are all games included in my KBO predictions.                                                  

The end of last week was a complete disaster for the KIA Tigers who lost three games against the Doosan Bears and currently sit sixth in the table. The team is two victories behind the playoffs and needs to bounce back immediately.

The good news is that the Tigers face the last-placed Eagles next. On top of that, KIA’s projected pitcher for this clash is Drew Gagnon who has been excellent this season. He should be able to contain the worst defense in the league rather comfortably.

On top of that, Gagno should receive some support by the offense because the Eagles are expected to start a guy with more than ten defeats.

The Lotte Giants did great to win four in a row and somehow stay in the battle for the postseason. The problem is that the team faces KT Wiz next. Suwon has been strong recently and should be led by Odrisamer Despaigne.

The Cuban has been one of the best pitchers in the KBO this season and already has 15 victories under his belt.

Lotte’s choice for a starter is Se Woong Park who is strong as well, but KT Wiz has the better offense and the more reliable bullpen, so I’m backing them in my KBO predictions for Tuesday.

It’s really hard to go against the NC Dinos nowadays. The KBO leaders have been on another level recently and have secured the top spot in the standings by opening a lead of eight wins.

That’s why they can afford to take it easy by the end of the regular season which is not the case with Kiwoom. The Heroes are right in the heart of the battle for the playoff spots.

The team desperately needs a victory and will rely on Eric Jokisch to get it. Many believe he’s the best pitcher in the country, while the Dinos might have to use a reliever. That’s why I’m going for the Heroes in game one of the series.

The Doosan Bears took full control over their destiny after three impressive victories over the KIA Tigers last week. The reigning champions showed that they have a lot of fight left and they now have the upper hand in the battle for the playoffs.

The Bears have an excellent chance to improve their position even further in the upcoming series against the SK Wyverns. They are expected to start the much better pitcher on Tuesday and they have all the momentum right now, so another win for Doosan makes the most sense.

This game looks like the hardest to predict from the upcoming round. The Twins need a victory more and have been way more consistent this season, but the Lions are dangerous and already beat several strong opponents in the past several weeks.

On the surface, both sides are also starting comparable pitchers but a deeper look at the last month or so paints another picture. Ben Lively has been phenomenal for the Lions, while Chan Gyu Lim struggled on several occasions.

I believe that’s enough of a reason to back the Lions in my KBO predictions for Tuesday.
